Fortune-Creating Home in Maleny, Queensland, Australia
Wendy Rosenfeldt has recently completed her inspiring Fortune-Creating Home in Maleny,
which is situated in the beautiful lush hinterland behind the well known Sunshine Coast. The land
and house have a commanding eastern outlook to receive the early morning rays of the sun and
delightful views over a small valley and river and the town in the distance to the northeast.
Wendy, a Governor, Ayur Veda Consultant, Vastu Coordinator in Training and single mum of a
wonderful 5 year old, moved to Maleny three and a half years ago. She was renting a home and
then decided to fulfill her desire to live in Vastu.

Wendy started negotiating on an impressive East facing 845m² lot of land in mid August 2009
and because she wanted to benefit from a substantial first home owner’s grant being offered by
the Government, which required a signed building contract by 30 th September 2009, she had to
move quickly.
The land was purchased, finance arranged, surveyors, engineers and a draftsperson engaged, the
house designed, MSV plans prepared, builder’s quotes obtained, a building contract completed
and a Government grant application submitted all before the 30 th September.
This was a massive and remarkable achievement by Wendy.
Due to the busy work schedules of the builder and contractors in this booming area together with
high rainfall for several months the house construction did not get underway until February 2010.
Wendy inaugurated the home and moved in at the appropriate Muhurta time on the auspicious
date of 21 st July 2010.

The house is supported on stumps and a timbercrete plinth, has a tongue and groove timber floor,
external walls of weatherboard style panels and a colorbond roof.
It consists of 2 bedrooms, retreat/small living area, kitchen, combined dining and living room,
study, large entry and Brahmasthan space, meditation room, guest bedroom/lecture room, 2
bathrooms, additional WC and a vestibule. The house is designed so that the private living areas
are separate from the rooms on the North side which can be used for TM teaching activities and
Ayur Veda consultations. There are large verandahs on the East and North and a carport outside
the Vastu in the Northwest corner of the lot.
Landscaping and Vedic gardens are to be designed and created soon.
The Vastu fence surrounds the home to provide protection and promote positivity and the Kalash
adorns the central roof position connecting Heaven and Earth.

Wendy’s reflections and experiences:-
“Once I decided to build it was a really enjoyable process to design the house exactly as I wanted.
Mike’s input both from a Sthapatya Veda point of view and from the practical level of the steps
to take was invaluable. There were some delays and obstacles on the way but nothing that could
not be overcome and on the whole the process went really smoothly. I started out with just the
intention to build and a few ideas of how to make it happen but really not a lot behind me to
begin with; what I did experience was quite incredible nature support in getting the land, the loan
and a good builder.

Since being in the house I feel lighter and more unbounded. I have lived in a lot of places and
sometimes the house can feel like it weighs you down whereas this house feels like it lifts you up
and supports you. Program in the meditation room is very blissful and it feels like you are doing
group program. I have also noticed that I can act on and achieve my ideas and desires more
quickly. Overall there is less fatigue and more inner wakefulness. People that come to learn TM
have very deep experiences straight away and enjoy coming back for their follow up and numbers
for TM initiations and consultations have increased. I would encourage anyone to build their
own Fortune-Creating Home and then anything else that you want to achieve will come more
easily.”
Wendy’s amazing achievement demonstrates that it is possible for everyone to enjoy the benefits
of a harmonious and evolutionary Vastu building and it is an inspiration to all of us to promote
and build Fortune-Creating Homes everywhere.

on the outskirts of Maleny and will build a Fortune-Creating Home in the near future.
You will also recall the great home built by Keith and Robin Valentine in North Maleny which
we featured in articles earlier this year and last year and was displayed in 2 national glossy
building magazines.
Maleny is a great location for developing a community of Meditators and Sidhas living and
working in Vastu buildings.
