Q: Do you offer any clubs?
A: A wide range of interests and skills
are catered for with sport, art & craft,
cookery, construction, gardening,
music and many more clubs
throughout the year.
Q: What opportunities are made for
outside visits and visitors?
A: Learning is enhanced with a wide
variety of visitors, including writers,
vets, artists, drummers, astronomers,
fire-fighters and storytellers. There are
regular whole school trips and class
visits. In their final year children are
offered the opportunity of a
residential trip.
Q: What is your uniform policy?
A: Pride in appearance is important. All
children wear uniform and there are
clear expectations regarding neatness
and the wearing of correct uniform.
Q: What musical opportunities are there?
A: All children regularly participate in
singing and musical assemblies. All
children in Year 4 have weekly free
guitar lessons and there are also
opportunities to learn a range of
musical instruments.
Q: Do children have homework?
A: Children have a weekly open-ended
task to encourage individual, creative
learning, in addition to focused
literacy and numeracy work.
Q: How will I be able to find out about
my child’s progress?
A: Termly parents’ evenings are held
where targets and achievements are
shared. There are also open classroom
days with the opportunity to look at
work and progress.
Q: What is your approach to the
teaching of religious education?
A: Children are encouraged to become
caring, supportive and respectful
towards each other and the many
religions of the world.
Partnerships:
Children do best when everyone around them is supportive, works
together and has similar goals. We encourage parents and carers to
talk to teachers, visit the school for open classrooms and to become
involved in topic work. We provide regular information evenings
and information leaflets to support and consolidate home learning.
We also want to hear from you about what your child is interested in
and how they are engaging with their learning at home. We aim to
develop strong partnerships based on mutual respect.

Behaviour and Safety:
We have high standards of pupil behaviour. Our golden rules give
the children a clear code of expectations.

Our school is committed to providing a safe environment for children
to learn in and has robust safeguarding procedures. We have a
well-equipped and recently refurbished school with a securely
fenced perimeter. We operate a buzzer system for entry and have
a rigorous system for collection that aims to ensure safety and
security for all children at all times.
