9. Winner(s)’ acceptance of the prize gives the <strong>Ventura</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>Star</strong> the right to use the<br />
names and photographs of the winners for promotional purposes without further<br />
compensation. The winners’ names will be published in the <strong>Ventura</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>Star</strong>.<br />
10. By entering the sweepstakes, each entrant accepts and agrees to be bound by the<br />
sweepstakes rules and the decision of the judges, which shall be final. The odds of<br />
winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.<br />
11. All entries received with an e-mail address will automatically receive the following free<br />
monthly e-newsletters via e-mail from <strong>Ventura</strong><strong>County</strong><strong>Star</strong>.com; Crave, Vino!, Back9 and<br />
Love My Ride. Entrants may opt-out of receiving the e-newsletters by checking the “No,<br />
thanks” box on the official entry form or by including “No e-newsletters” on the mailed<br />
postcard. Recipients of the e-newsletters may also opt-out at anytime after sign up by<br />
clicking on the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of each e-newsletter.<br />
12. On or about November 28, 2008, one (1) Grand Prize winner will be chosen by random<br />
drawing from all eligible entries received. Grand Prize winner will receive four (4) tickets to<br />
the <strong>UCLA</strong> vs. USC football game to be played on December 6, 2008 at the Rose Bowl in<br />
Pasadena, CA. Ticket seat selection will be at the sole discretion of Sponsor. Approximate<br />
retail value of (4) tickets is $360. Parking, souvenirs, food and beverages, personal items<br />
and all other expenses not listed above are not included. Transportation to Pasadena is<br />
not included.<br />
Upon acceptance of the prize, the winner will be required to sign an Affidavit of Eligibility<br />
and Release of Liability Form which must be returned prior to receiving the prize. Failure to<br />
sign and return the affidavit of eligibility and release will result in forfeiture of the prize and<br />
Sponsor will award it to an alternate winner chosen by random drawing. By entering the<br />
Sweepstakes, winner agrees to waive any and all claims against the E.W. Scripps<br />
Company d/b/a <strong>Ventura</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>Star</strong>, <strong>UCLA</strong>, University of Southern California, their<br />
respective parent corporations, subsidiaries affiliates, officers, directors, employees,<br />
agents, and representatives for personal injury or loss that may occur from the participation<br />
in this Sweepstakes or from the receipt or use of any prize.<br />

California, their respective parent corporations, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors,<br />
employees, agents and representatives are not responsible for printing or typographical<br />
errors in any Sweepstakes-related materials; stolen, late, lost, garbled, delayed,<br />
misdirected, damaged, incomplete, postage due or illegible entries. If, in the <strong>Ventura</strong><br />
<strong>County</strong> <strong>Star</strong>’s exclusive judgment, this Sweepstakes becomes compromised in any way,<br />
E.W. Scripps Company d/b/a <strong>Ventura</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>Star</strong> reserves the right to withdraw the<br />
Sweepstakes offer, cancel any method of entry, void any entries submitted fraudulently, or<br />
select winners from all eligible entries received prior to the act that compromised the<br />
