Our radiant staff consists of women who press hard to walk in the truth of their identity and power in Christ. And because we look to Him for our beauty, we are continuously evolving and changing more into His image and our shame slowly and steadily fades. It is our prayer that you read each issue and that the articles help you to know the radiance that lives within you. rowing up as a “pastor’s kid”<br />
and as the oldest child, I felt<br />
like I had to be perfect. I couldn’t<br />
make mistakes and I couldn’t<br />
reveal any flaws. During high<br />
school, I was the girl that was<br />
in 10 clubs at the SAME TIME! I<br />
was in honors and AP classes, did<br />
sports, leadership, kept my room<br />
clean and helped watch my little<br />
brothers. I was always afraid that<br />
if I wasn’t perfect, people might<br />
judge my family or me— or my<br />
little brothers might see me and<br />
repeat my mistakes.<br />
Unfortunately, my life was turned<br />
upside down when my step-dad<br />
(the now ex-pastor) turned to<br />
alcohol and drugs to solve his<br />
problems. In a matter of a few years,<br />
I lost a father figure, a stable home,<br />
income, health insurance, my car,<br />
along with countless other things.<br />
