Global 2D X-Ray Equipment Market: Shares,
Strategies, and Forecasts, Worldwide, 2015 to 2021
Market Research Reports Search Engine (MRRSE) has announced the addition of the report
“ 2D X-Ray Equipment: Market Shares, Strategies, and Forecasts, Worldwide, 2015 to
2021”. According to this report, the global market for 2D X-ray equipment was worth US$5 billion
in 2014 and is expected to grow to more than triple this amount. By the end of 2021, the market
will reach a total value of US$16.9 billion.
Continuous advancement in technology is the primary reason behind the growth of the digital X-
ray market. Innovative equipment features the latest software and new materials. Furthermore,
there is an uptrend in medical procedures for an increasing geriatric and unhealthy population.
Another market force shaping the global 2D X-ray equipment market dynamics is the
accelerating demand for minimally invasive surgeries, which in turn is fueling the adoption of
diagnostic systems. Moreover, mobile equipment such as 2D X-ray systems can improve
workflow and reduce wastage in healthcare delivery process.
2D X-ray equipment technology is cheaper than a CT scan and the dosage is only around one
hundredth of the latter. These two elements have boosted the preference for 2D X-ray equipment
among consumers. However, it is not only patient preference that is driving the global 2D X-ray
equipment market. Enhanced level of diagnostics and therapeutics associated with 2D X-ray
equipment has fueled demand from clinicians as well.
Since the X-ray market has become saturated, technological innovation will breathe new life into
this market, by forcing every healthcare facility to upgrade its X-ray equipment with the latest,
digital versions. As hospitals must remain competitive, they will have to invest in new 2D X-ray
equipment.
On the basis of use, this Market Research Reports Search Engine (MRRSE) segments the
market into X-ray, mammogram, cath lab, general radiology, angioplasty, surgical c-arm, portable
X-ray, and fluoroscopy suites X-ray equipment. The application segments of interventional
radiology and mammography are expected to demonstrate promising growth in the foreseeable
future. Additionally, the product segment of portable devices will demonstrate decent growth in
the global 2D X-ray equipment market during the forecast horizon.
The market leaders in the global 2D X-ray equipment market are Siemens, Philips Healthcare,
Canon, Shimadzu, GE Healthcare, Varian, AGFA, Hitachi Medical, Toshiba Medical Systems,
Hologic, China Resources, FujiMedical Systems, and Onex. The competition among these
players is based on technological advances, quality, and support from the government.
Furthermore, pricing and positioning of the product in the market according to its application will
also drive the competition in this industry.
Xanthan, popularly known as xanthan gum, a polysaccharide synthesized and secreted by a
bacterium, Xanthomonas campestris, is commonly used as a rheology modifier and food
additive. It performs the function of a thickening agent in food such as, salad dressings, and
a stabilizing agent in cosmetics and personal care products It s also used in oil and drilling
operations for lubricating, fracking and viscosity modifying applications.
Xanthan gum consists of repeating units of five carbon ring structures (Pentasaccharides),
containing glucuronic acid, mannose, and glucose (in molar ratio 2:2:1). Xanthan gum is
manufactured by fermentation of sugars such as lactose, sucrose or glucose. After
fermentation, the polysaccharide formed is extracted through precipitation from a
nutrition/growth medium by adding isopropyl alcohol, drying and then grounding the extract
into fine powder. Xanthan gum is formed by adding the powdered polysaccharide into a
liquid medium.
Zinc Chemicals Market - Global Industry Expert Opinions Analysis, Emerging
Opportunities, Market Size, Share, Growth Drivers, Market Trends, Statistics And
Forecast 2015 - 2020
Zinc is a bluish-white metal which has an extremely shinny surface. Zinc is abundantly found
in the earth’s crust. The process of extracting zinc from its ore was invented in India. Zinc
does not occur as a free metal in the earth’s crust. Some of the most important zinc ores are
zinc spar, zinc carbonate, smithsonite, zinc blend, zinc sulfide, zincite and zinc oxide among
others. Zinc is neither malleable nor ductile at room temperature. However, at temperature
above 100oC zinc exhibits slight malleable properties.
Zinc has a melting point at 419.5oC and has its boiling point at 908oC. The density of zinc
metal is approximately 7.14 grams per cubic centimeter. Zinc metal being a soft metal has a
hardness of only 2.5 on the Mohs scale. Zinc is an active metal and is thus, soluble in both
alkalis and acids. Zinc does not react with oxygen in dry air. However, in moist air it forms
zinc carbonate. Zinc burns in air with a bluish flame. The major zinc chemicals having huge
commercial importance are zinc oxide, zinc chloride and zinc sulfate. Zinc chemicals find
major applications in the automobile and ceramic tiles manufacturing industries among
others..
