Marmion/Rosary to Sponsor
11 th Annual Grade School Honor Band
On Sunday, January 20, 2013, the Marmion/Rosary
Band will sponsor the 11th annual Grade School
Honor Band and Chorus festival. Students from both
Catholic and public schools are invited to participate
in a truly superb musical ensemble. Advanced gradeschool
musicians will be brought together for a day
to develop skills and meet fellow young musicians.
The festival will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the gym at
Marmion Academy (1000 Butterfield Rd., Aurora).
Students rehearse from 1 - 5 p.m., then will be
treated to pizza before performing a concert for the
public at 6:30 p.m. The application deadline is
Wednesday, Nov. 28. Please check with your school
band or chorus director for nomination forms. There

Marmion Academy Offers
Scholarship Qualifying Entrance Exam
Marmion Academy High School is offering its
Scholarship Qualifying Entrance Exam for 8th grade
boys on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 9 a.m. To register, an
application must be filed prior to or on the day of the
exam. This is the only test date and it must be taken
at Marmion to qualify for a scholarship. Ten
scholarships will be awarded to incoming freshmen
based on academic merit of the exam.
Calling all Catholic Illini
Celebrate the Solemnity of the Immaculate
Conception in downtown Chicago with the St. John
Catholic Newman Center and fellow University of
Illinois alumni! The celebration begins with a Vigil
Mass, followed by cocktails, hors d-oeuvres, live
music and fellowship. The event is Friday, Dec. 7,
6 p.m. at The Library, 190 S. LaSalle, Chicago.

“White Christmas” Presented
by Rosary/Marmion
Rosary High School, in conjunction with Marmion
Academy, is presenting the musical “White
Christmas” Friday, Nov. 30 through Sunday, Dec. 2
at Rosary’s McEnroe Auditorium, 901 N. Edgelawn
Drive in Aurora.
Kick off the Christmas season with this charming
musical based on the beloved, timeless film, White
Christmas, featuring 17 Irving Berlin songs and a
book by David Ives and Paul Blake. The cast
includes more than 40 students from Rosary and
Marmion, and music is provided by the Rosary
Symphony Orchestra with additional musicians from
the Rosary/Marmion Band.
Show times are Friday, Nov. 30 and Saturday, Dec. 1
at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 2 at 2 p.m. Tickets
