Osterfjord Cruise with MV White Lady

Sámi Inspiration Extension
Starting in Kirkenes, experience the flavour and
magic of Lapland by combining your voyage
with this fascinating trip into Northern Finland.
This tour introduces you to the natural and
cultural diversity of the Sámi, the largest indigenous
group in Europe. Your three day visit to
Finnish Lapland starts in Kirkenes.
Day 1 Kirkenes-Inari
The drive to Inari takes you through a stunning
landscape of cascading waterfalls and salmonrich
rivers. After Utsjoki you will pass the Sámi
Bridge that connects Norway with Finland. You
arrive at your hotel early evening, after a journey
of 5-6 hours.
Day 2 Inari
During your stay you will visit SIIDA, the Sámi
Museum and Northern Lapland Nature Centre
which contains a wealth of exhibits highlighting
the region’s cultural and environmental diversity.
You will also visit a reindeer farm, where
you learn about the life and farming techniques
of the reindeer herders.
Day 3 Inari-Kirkenes
After departing Inari in the morning you head
back towards Kirkenes, driving along the scenic
highway that passes a captivating vista of glistening
lakes. In the Skolt Sámi region you will
learn something of the life and history of these
distinctive people and visit an Orthodox church
with an interesting graveyard before completing
your journey back to Kirkenes.

The Snow Hotel – A Unique Winter

Snow Shoeing
After an introduction on how to use snow shoes,

King Crab Safari
This excursion offers a unique winter experience
beginning with a snowmobile-drawn sleigh ride
from a traditional fisherman´s home to a frozen
fjord. After sawing a hole in the ice, you will set
about trying to catch a magnificent king crab.
These incredible crustaceans can span two
metres and weigh up to 15 kilos. They will be
prepared and cooked for you when you return to
the fisherman´s house – a rewarding meal at the
end of a fabulous excursion.
