They are compatible with elastomers, are
distinguished by their excellent pumpability,
and are approved by the leading manufacturers
of large rolling bearings, Hoesch
Rothe Erde: the greases rhenus LEG 2 and
LKZ 2. Their special properties and excellent
test results have now also convinced the
managers at Komatsu. So the world’s second
largest construction machinery manufacturer
has placed rhenus LEG 2 and LKZ 2 on the
official approved list of recommended greases
for large-capacity excavators.
rhenus LEG 2 is a special grease based on a
semi-synthetic, high viscosity base oil with
a graphite additive. Due to its excellent adhesion,
the ingress of water and dust can be
almost completely prevented. Because of its
high base oil viscosity and the solid lubricants,
rhenus LEG 2 is able to maintain its
protective film even under sudden or oscillating
loads. Due to its properties, the special
grease, rhenus LKZ 2, is especially useful at
low temperatures of up to -40 °C. But, when
in use, also the excellent pressure resistance
and very good wear protection distinguish
the lithium complex soap lubricating grease
based on a synthetic base oil.

For the successful cooperation, high degree

of the expander oil rhenus EP 4 CF, Vyksa
Steel Works now distinguishes Rhenus Lub
with the “Best Supplier” certificate in the category
“Special lubricants”. “If high quality,
know-how and technology are needed, then
we are at the very top at Vyksa”, emphasises
Zahit May, Rhenus Lub sales manager for
north Germany. Vyksa Steel Works is one of
the leading Russian manufacturers of tubes
for pipelines. The company, which is part of
the OMK Group, has been mainly involved in
the construction of the natural gas pipeline
of Nord Stream AG through the Baltic Sea.
Thanks to the highly specialised expander
oil, rhenus EP 4 CF, the manufacture of the
large tubes for the pipeline construction ran
smoothly. For the high-tech oil meets extremely
high requirements in the expansion
of thick-wall tubes. The pipeline tubes must
therefore meet extraordinarily high safety
standards, as they need to withstand pressure
of some hundred tons at the sea bed.

rhenus FU 850 – pH value is an uncritical variable
Nothing is as it seems! While it was previously
assumed that products free from amine
and boric acid could not be equally powerful,
in recent years Rhenus Lub has proven time
and again that exactly the opposite is the
case. A current example is the water-miscible
coolant, rhenus FU 850.
The intelligently structured product falls under
the premium category of coolants free
from amine and boric acid RL , and, with its
typical properties to prevent skin irritation,
places health in the foreground. But performance
is crucial, and across the entire range.
So, rhenus FU 850 proves convincing especially
through its technical properties - and
without nitrosation potential or the risk of a
complexation of heavy metals from amines.
In plain language
Whether for cutting aluminium, cast iron,
high alloy steels or other materials, the requirements
on a demanding coolant are
clearly defined: high flushing capacity, longterm
stability and low drag out loss. All this
at an optimum pH value. At this point, the intelligent
additives come into play. Through a
special formula, the pH value is guaranteed
to level off at a non-critical level. The coolant
thus has the characteristics which make for

Maximum output, stable processes and minimal
use of resources - at the coolants trade
fair in Augsburg (5-6 June 2013), everything
for the trade fair visitors will be about these
most important challenges in metalworking.
The key to success: rhenus lubrineering, the
intelligent combination of excellent products

new parameter system, Rhenus Lub has set
the lever where process costs can be sustainably

grinding and cutting oils rhenus EP 6,
rhenus EP 12 S and rhenus EP 22 S. In this

Safe run for Europe’s railways -
with special greases from Rhenus Lub
Rain, frost, scorching heat, high pressures
and high speeds - in rail transport, the correct
choice of grease under the harshest conditions
decides on security and reliability.
Rhenus Lub offers their customers a broad
range of special greases, which are approved
for use in rail transport, such as for wheel
bearings, tooth wheels, buffers, switch plates
or signalling systems.
rhenus BAC 0 is new in the industry-specific
product portfolio. The innovative lubricant,
based on inorganic thickeners, can be reliably
used in a temperature range of -30 to +80
degrees Celsius. It was recently approved by
Deutsche Bahn for the lubrication of buffer
heads.
The lithium greases, rhenus LSN 03 and
rhenus LWN 04, are resistant to erosion and
are also readily biodegradable. Thanks to
the combination of high-performance and
environmental compatibility, they optimally
meet the high requirements of train operators.
As high-temperature EP greases, rhenus LKR 2
and rhenus LKJ 2 are used everywhere,
where heavily loaded rolling bearings need
to perform reliably. Thanks to a highly-effective
composition of additives and good adhesion,
they extend the lifetime of wheelset
bearings, among other things, at the Dutch
railway company.
As special greases for lubricating wheel flanges,
rhenus LDU 02 GR and rhenus CBG 03
keep trains in Germany and abroad on the
right track. Pneumatic doors of modern
trains can be opened silently and quickly because
they are lubricated with rhenus LZN 2
and the calcium special greases, rhenus CGN 2
and rhenus CYN 15 from Rhenus Lub.
