INSTRUCTOR’S CORNER
You guys have all done a great
job! You came every day,
worked on your certifications
and showed great enthusiasm
for all of the workshops we did.
Each of you has overcome
many obstacles in your lives
and there will still be more to
come. But each and every one
of you has determination and
will power and this is what has
helped you, and will continue to
help you succeed. You are all
capable of achieving whatever it is you want if you put
your mind to it. I do not doubt this, and neither should
you!

I would like to begin by thanking
all the staff and volunteers
that made the CTI program
possible. Without them, we
would not be here today. It is
an awesome sight to see—
everyone here so proud of
themselves for their well deserved
accomplishments they
have achieved. We all come to
this class with the same goal
and we all reached that goal.
We brought with us an extensive
amount of opinions and paths of life to reflect
on and share with one another .
Some of us learned too much to remember and got
confused or frustrated. But in all the class there
was always someone willing to help out—whether it
was the teacher or a classmate. Seeing the compassion
and struggle classmates have gone
through has been truly an inspiring thing to witness.
I am proud to say that I was a part of this class and
that I learned and grew from it. But not on my own,
and that is what I am most proud of. Some of us
became friends and I hope that friendship will last
so we can reflect back to this time as the beginning
of our new lives. We started it together and hopefully
some of us will witness one another’s next
path of life that we begin.

NEW Forklift and First-Aid
Application Process!
There is a new application process
for the forklift and first-aid
courses offered by CTI.
Applicants now have to fill out an
application form online. This includes
also attaching a proof of income
since low-income candidates
have priority.
The application is on the same
document as the CTI application
here, or they can pick one up at
security.
From the Editor
Another three weeks have blown by here
at the CTI Program - and has it ever been
a chilly one!
Thanks again to the students and staff for
their patience and understanding during
the (multiple) re-bookings of the Forklift
course. I’m glad that we could finally get a
break in the weather to complete the driving
portion, and from what I’ve heard from
Alex, things went exceptionally well.
This month we had an excellent graduating
class of thirteen individuals, your hard
work, open minds and persistence has
been appreciated over the past few weeks. This course is a big commitment
and a lot of information to take in all at once. Whether it was gaining
some additional certifications, taking a different outlook on life or
wrestling with computers, by completing this course you have proven
that you have what it takes to reach your goals.
To Jess, Daniel, William, Clive, Danny, Dennis, David, Randy, Doug,
Steve, Rob, Jim and Tara congratulations and best of luck!
Also, remember to keep in touch and if there is anything we can help
you with in the future just let us know.

Wild Rose Art Studio
Come try your creative talent at the Wild
Rose Art Studio!
To provide a safe and peaceful environment
for creative exploration, art.works
opened the Wild Rose Studio.
Hours of operation: Monday to Friday
(9 am to 6pm) – 6th floor of the DI
The Studio is a client supervised area,
and as such, unique amongst the DI programs.
Client volunteers oversee the
daily operations of the studio as well as
provide input into how to improve the art
program.
The Studio has provided a creative outlet
for many client artists to express themselves
through the arts.
He had a fantastic speech about life’s struggles
and the opportunities we have to re-try. Rudy was
able to relate life to Shakespeare’s plays. In theatre,
actors can make mis-takes when they make
an error.
Mistakes are also common to every one of our lives, and on the stage of
life, we have to realize that these are just mis-takes. We have the ability to
retry and re-take in life. We should not be caught up in the wrongs of the
past. Instead we should look forward to learning and moving toward to a
brighter and better future.
So thank you Rudy for your words of encouragement and hope for future
that can learn to be better from the mistakes of the past.

Additional Career Enhancement
Week
March 28—March 31 during the week from

This program provides structured, supportive training and work
experience for individuals who have a sporadic employment history.
The program gives participants the opportunity to work and earn a
wage while learning reliable employment skills.
Participants are hired by Alberta Employment and Immigration
and are paid minimum wage plus employer contributions. They work
on projects for their local communities and non-profit organizations.
The Alberta Job Corps program is designed to work in cooperation
with employers, training providers, aboriginal groups, community organizations
and schools.

The following online courses are available at no cost through the CTI
program
Come in between 4:30 and 8:30 PM to work on these courses. Only
those interested in taking ONLINE CERTIFICATIONS will be allowed
to work in the lab. No appointment necessary. Students will
be picked up at 4:30 on the 1st floor by the main elevator. If you
come later, notify security and you will be picked up.
