White Cement
Points to Take into Consideration When Using
‣ For concrete mixtures, white aggregates compliant with the standard “TS 706 EN 12620 Concrete
Aggregates” should be used. Cement and aggregates are the major components determining the color
of concrete. In order to obtain the required white color, whiteness of the aggregates should be
considered.
‣ It is important that materials used for white concrete mixtures should not be pigmentary substances
and these materials should be stored cleanly.
‣ It is critical that equipment used for reinforced concrete should not be rusty or dirty. If it is possible,
galvanized equipment should be used.
‣ It is essential that water absorption of molds to be used should be low, these molds should be clean
and cement paste should not leak through the mold during vibration.
‣ Fresh concrete vibration should be performed very well and it must be cured. Concrete should be
wrapped up in wet materials.
‣ Since the surface of concrete is expected to be void-free and smooth in exposed concrete applications,
preparation and placement of concrete should be accurate and slump loss should be checked. Concrete
should be poured by means of a belt mixer or a crane and a bucket instead of a pump.
