Weekly News and Information
Child Care will be provided for parents attending Bible Class
between services every Sunday.
Lenten Service—Please join us this Wednesday, for our Lenten
Service. The services are at 3:30 PM and 6:30 PM. There
will be a supper served in the Commons from 4:45 PM to 6:00
PM.
Celebration Committee—Thanks be to God! We have so
much to rejoice about. Our “new” church and school will be 15
years old this year. Our mortgage will be paid in full in 2013,
and St. Luke’s will celebrate its 125 th anniversary in 2016.
We’re looking for volunteers to plan the events. If interested,
please talk to John Sankey. (238-7987)
WLA “The Event”-“Rockin’ through the 50’s” is the theme for
this years evening. Pick up your invite on the table in the narthex
for the 3 rd Annual Dinner & Auction on Saturday, April
28 th . Proceeds raised help benefit the Winnebago Lutheran
Academy’s Endowment Fund.
Label Savers—Please! We need only the UPC labels from
Campbell Soup products—not the front label. Also, we need
the whole top section from the milk Moola bags, not just the 5
cent circle. Thank you.
Kitchen Items—If you brought something in a returnable dish
for Spring Blast or Lenten Suppers, please pick up in the
kitchen. Anything left at spring cleaning will be taken to
Goodwill.
Meditations are here and on the back counter in the Narthex.
Holy Week Service Times—Please pick up a flier on the table
in the narthex with service times for Holy Week.
Easter Lilies—Order your lily today through March 29 th the
last day to order. Sharing your lily plant to beautify our church
during the Easter Season is greatly appreciated. Order forms,
along with envelopes are available on the table and counter in
the narthex. Cost is $10.00. Any questions or late orders
please contact Etta Held at 583-3084.
Voter’s Meeting—All St. Luke’s men are invited to participate
in the operation of our congregation by attending our next
meeting on Sunday, April 15 from 9:10 to 10:20 am. One item
is the ratification of the new WLA constitution and bylaws.

PRAYER: Eternal God and Father, help us to remember
Jesus, who obeyed your will and bore the cross for our
salvation that through his anguish, pain, and death we may
receive forgiveness of sins and inherit eternal life; through
your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with
you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
FIRST LESSON: Jeremiah 31:31-34
“The time is coming,” declares the LORD, “when I will
make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the
house of Judah. It will not be like the covenant I made with
their forefathers when I took them by the hand to lead them
out of Egypt, because they broke my covenant, though I was a
husband to them,’” declares the LORD.
“This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel
after that time,” declares the LORD. “I will put my law in
their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God,
and they will be my people. No longer will a man teach his
neighbor, or a man his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’
because they will all know me, from the least of them to the
greatest,” declares the LORD.

SECOND LESSON: Hebrews 5:7-9
During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers
and petitions with loud cries and tears to the one who could
save him from death, and he was heard because of his
reverent submission. Although he was a son, he learned
obedience from what he suffered and, once made perfect, he
became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him.

and to give his life as a ransom for many.
GOSPEL: John 12:20-33
Now there were some Greeks among those who went up to
worship at the Feast.
They came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee,
with a request. “Sir,” they said, “we would like to see Jesus.”
Philip went to tell Andrew; Andrew and Philip in turn told
Jesus.
Jesus replied, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to
be glorified. I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls
to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it
dies, it produces many seeds. The man who loves his life will
lose it, while the man who hates his life in this world will
keep it for eternal life. Whoever serves me must follow me;
and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will
honor the one who serves me.

“Now my heart is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father,
save me from this hour’? No, it was for this very reason I
came to this hour. Father, glorify your name!”
Then a voice came from heaven, “I have glorified it, and
will glorify it again.” The crowd that was there and heard it
said it had thundered; others said an angel had spoken to him.
Jesus said, “This voice was for your benefit, not mine.
Now is the time for judgment on this world; now the prince of
this world will be driven out. But I, when I am lifted up from
the earth, will draw all men to myself.” He said this to show
the kind of death he was going to die. (NIV)

Creator and Savior today through His Word and give you an opportunity to
praise Him with songs and prayers.

our service that you feel comfortable with.

worship attendance register in the narthex.
† Parents, if your child become restless, that’s okay…, we’re glad they’re
here and Jesus is pleased when they are brought to hear his Word! Perhaps a
moment or two with mom or dad is all that is necessary. Our Church
Nursery is located in the narthex
† We believe that gathering together at God’s altar to receive Holy
Communion is a testimony of the confession and commitment we share as
members of the Lutheran Church. We ask guests who are not members of
our denomination to speak to the pastor before joining us at the altar so that
all may have a clear understanding of our faith and practice.
