BRYSON TAYLOR JUMPS
Bryson graduated from Eisenhower High School in Decatur, IL and was a
standout three-sport athlete while attending Greenville, competing in track,
football and basketball. He became Greenville’s most decorated athlete of
all-time, earning six NCAA All-American awards. Taylor’s top finish was a
national runner-up in the triple jump with a distance of 48’11 ¾”. Bryson
also earned All-American honors in the high jump. He is entering his fourth
year as a coach on our staff.
2010 WOMEN’S CROSS COUNTRY
The 2010 Greenville College Lady Panthers cross country team ran up against their most
formidable opponent in recent history – youth.
The team returned only two runners from the 2009 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference (SLIAC) Champion squad. Despite their best efforts the inexperience proved
too much as the Ladies finished 3rd in the SLIAC, breaking their string of 6 consecutive
titles.
TRACK & FIELD CROSS COUNTRY
4
The season was not without its victories. Michelle Sutton (Springport, MI / Jackson)
and Aubree Schreder (Waterloo, IL / Waterloo) proved a formidable duo as they claimed
1-2 finished in three straight races, including the SLIAC Championships.
Sutton won races at the Gibson Family Cross-country Invitational in Terre Haute, IN and
the University of Evansville Invitational. She finished her illustrious career with 3 of the
top 6 6K times in school history along with the top spot on the 5K list (18:18). She also
garnered the honor of NCAA DIII All-Region by way of her 26th place performance at
the Midwest Regional Championships.
The upstart Schreder came on strong in her inaugural campaign. While spending much
of the season under the veteran tutelage of Sutton, Schreder came into her own by
winning the SLIAC individual championship. The victory earned her both SLIAC Runner
of the Year and SLIAC Newcomer of the Year, in addition to a 6K school record with
a time of 22:06. She carried that success into the NCAA DIII Midwest Regional Meet
where she finished 23rd overall and became the first female in Greenville College Crosscountry
history to qualify for the NCAA DIII National Championships. Her season was
completed with an 82nd place showing, which was the 6th best performance among all
freshman in the meet.
Aubree Schreder
Michelle Sutton
As the Lady Panthers look ahead to the 2011 season they will rely heavily upon the
quality finishes of Aubree Schreder and will look for continued contributions from
returning SLIAC scorers Rosie Nelson (Brimfield, IL / Elmwood) and Carisa Wilson
(Shelbyville, IL / Shelbyville) and Manning Heaps (Chatham, IL / New Berlin).

2011 WOMEN’S TRACK & FIELD PREVIEW
The 2010 edition of the Greenville
College Lady Panthers put together the
type of quality season that has become
the standard of the program. The team
produced a pair of top-5 finishes in
the National Christian College Athletic
Association (NCCAA) indoor and outdoor
national championship meets, produced
nine school records and had five qualify
for the NCAA DIII national meet with one
DIII All-American.
Rochaunda Harris (East St. Louis, IL
/ East St. Louis) had a breakthrough
season for the women in 2010. During
the indoor season, her school record of
60’6½” was the 3rd best throw in all of
the nation amongst NCAA DIII schools in
the Weight Throw. Her indoor success
gave Harris a great deal of confidence
which she carried over to the outdoor
throws where she was a national finalist
in the Hammer Throw. At the DIII
Outdoor Championships, she had yet
another personal best throw of 171’7”
to place 8th and garner the first All-
American honor of her career.
Penny Grant (Beardstown, IL /
Beardstown) was another national
finalist for the Lady Panthers during the
outdoor campaign. The All-American
long jumper missed most of the indoor
season due to a foot injury, but came
back strong outdoors to jump 18’11¾”
and make the DIII Championship meet.
Seniors Jaclyn Johnson-Cross
(Belleville, IL / Belleville East) and Talen
Gerber (Fairbury, IL / Prairie Central) also
had NCAA DIII qualifying performances
during the season. Johnson-Cross
threw a huge PR in the Hammer Throw
going 162’6”. Gerber, who came back
from being hit by a car during the 2009
Cross country season, ran an impressive
2:14.51 in one of the seasons premier
events in Women’s DIII Track & Field, the
800m run.
Michelle Sutton (Springport, MI /
Jackson) continued to set the standard
for the women’s distance squads. During
the 2010 season she single-handedly
rewrote the record books by claiming
the top spot in 4 different events. During
the indoor season she bested her own
Mile record by running 5:11.40. Then
she continued to pick up steam as she
headed outdoors and captured records
in the 1500m, 3000m, and 5000m events
posting times of 4:43.22, 10:16.41, and
17:54.10, respectively.
Tricia Gall (Troy, IL / Triad) made an
immediate impact as the freshman
set school records in the Triple Jump
during both indoor (36’1¼”) and outdoor
(35’1¾”) seasons. Other school records
were claimed by Kristen Schutte
(Stewardson, IL / Stewardson-Strasburg
) in the Javelin (126’01”) and the
Distance Medley Relay team of Jennifer
Sutton (Springport, MI / Jackson), Philita
Johnson (East St. Louis, IL / East St.
Louis), Talen Gerber, and Sara Schlink
(Washington, IL / Washington).
As the women move into the 2011
season, there will be many gaps to fill
as last year’s team graduated 10 ladies.
However, there is a wealth of young
talent that will continue to keep the team
moving forward.
Rochaunda Harris and Penny Grant
will look to move up the NCAA DIII
podium and add to their already stellar
esumes of school records and All-
American honors.
Kristen Schutte returns with Harris as
one of the top female throwers. Schutte
specializes in the Discus and the Javelin
and will look to better her school record
in the latter event.
In the sprints it will be Rose Sanders
(Virden, IL / Virden) as the top returner.
She will be pushed by Penny Grant and
Philita Johnson. Johnson’s focus is the
400m event in which she ran a personal
best 58.37 in 2010. Imari Mason (Chicago,
IL / Kenwood Academy) enters the season
as the Lady Panthers’ lead multi-event
performer.
Michelle Sutton will once again anchor
the women’s distance crew as she will
return to finish her eligibility as a 5th
year senior. Sutton will run alongside
freshman standout Aubree Schreder
(Waterloo, IL / Waterloo), a 2010 NCAA
DIII Cross-country National Championship
qualifier.
Tricia Gall returns as the best triple
jumper in school history. She will hope
to improve her indoor record which left
her just short of an NCAA qualifying
mark. Freshman Taylor Brunner (Oreana,
IL / Argenta-Oreana) should provide Gall
some company, as she brings a high
school best of 35’5” to the table in the
Triple Jump.
TRACK & FIELD CROSS COUNTRY
7
The Lady Panthers will have an exciting
mix of experience and youth in the 2011
season that should make the team a force
to be reckoned with in both NCCAA and
NCAA competition.

2010 MEN’S CROSS COUNTRY
TRACK & FIELD CROSS COUNTRY
10
2010 saw the return of the Greenville College
Men’s Cross country team to the top of the
heap in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference (SLIAC). After two straight runnerup
finishes, by a combined total of 4 points, the
men captured their 12th SLIAC title in the last
15 years. The men continued to perform well
as they moved into the NCAA DIII Midwest
Regional and finished 18th place in a region
that featured 9 different schools that had been
ranked among the nation’s top 30.
Alan Hollingsworth (sophomore, Monticello, IL
/ Monticello) was the top finisher in the SLIAC
championship meet. His time of 25:27 earned
him second overall and was the fastest 8K time
by a Panther on the season. Hollingsworth was
joined on the SLIAC First team All-Conference
list by senior Cole Prins (Erie, IL / Erie) and
junior Xavier Ortiz (Chicago, IL / AA Stagg), who
Fr. Bryant Simpson, Jr. Leo Pathy,
Jr. Nathan Young
contributed 4th and 7th place finishes, respectively. Additional scorers for the men
were SLIAC Second team All-Conference runners Bryant Simpson (freshman, Fairfield,
IL / Fairfield) in 10th place and junior Leo Pathy (Palos Hills, IL / AA Stagg) in 13th.
In the regional competition, it was Prins who finished his career with a personal
best time of 25:46 to finish 85th overall. Rounding out the scoring on the day were
Hollingsworth (25:51 – 89th), junior Coree Woltering (Ottowa, IL / Ottowa; 26:29 – 127th),
Pathy (26:37 – 135th), and junior Nathan Young (Morton, IL / Morton; 26:38 – 136th).
The future appears bright for the young Panther team as they will graduate only 2
members of the 2010 team. Hollingsworth will lead the charge in 2011 along with
returning scorers Woltering, Ortiz, Pathy, Simpson, and Young. This group will look for
additional contributions from several other runners who found themselves finishing in
the top 7 at various races including: Ross Baker (sophomore, St. Joseph, IL / Ogden),
Ethan Ford (sophomore, St. Joseph, IL / Ogden), Josh Dees (sophomore, St. Joseph, IL
/ Ogden), and Trevor Thompson (Williamsville, IL / Williamsville). Even more support
will come from sophomore Barry Parks (Eldorado, IL / Eldorado) and freshman Jordan
McCarty (Auburn, IL / Auburn) who both missed the 2010 campaign due to injury.

2010 was a banner year for the Greenville
College Men’s Track and Field team.
The men finished 3rd and 5th at the
National Christian College Athletic
Association (NCCAA) indoor and outdoor
championships, qualified nine for the
NCAA DIII national meet, had six school
records and a pair of individual national
championships.
2010. The junior was a national qualifier in
the 100m and as a member of the 4x100m
relay team along with sprint teammate
Brian White (Harvey, IL / Thornton). White
had his name added to the Greenville
record books when he teamed up with
Townsend, Oyler, and Lance Ward
(Greenville, IL / Greenville) in the 1600m
Sprint Medley Relay.
TRACK & FIELD CROSS COUNTRY
2011 MEN’S TRACK & FIELD PREVIEW
Edgar Townsend (St. Anne, IL / Kankakee)
provided endless headlines for the
Panthers. The 2009 NCAA DIII national
champion in the 110m Hurdles came into
his senior season with a bulls-eye on
his back and he handled the pressure
well. Townsend won his first indoor
national title in the 55m Hurdles. He then
proceeded to defend his 110m Hurdle title
during the outdoor campaign giving him 3
straight national championship victories.
In addition to national championships,
Townsend was a part of 5 school records
by bettering his own marks in the 55m
Hurdles, 60m Hurdles, and 110m Hurdles,
tying the school record in the 200m, and
taking part in one more record as a part
of the indoor 1600m Sprint Medley Relay
team. He was also a member of the
national qualifying 4x100m Relay team
during the outdoor season.
Rodney Oyler (Macon, IL / Meridian)
qualified for the DIII National
Championships in both indoor and outdoor
seasons. The middle distance specialist
set the school record in the indoor 800m
event and then qualified in the same event
outdoors. He was also a member of the
indoor 1600m Sprint Medley relay team
that set a new Greenville standard.
Gio Sykes (East St. Louis, IL / East St.
Louis) provided the Panthers with their
third DIII qualifying mark of the indoor
season in the Triple Jump.
Mark Mitchell (Kansas City, MO / Raytown
South), once again, led the sprint crew in
The Panthers had a pair of qualifying
distances in the jumps. The Triple Jump
saw another qualifier, this time it came
from junior Warith Fennoy (East St. Louis,
IL / East St. Louis) who leapt 46’9½“.
MorrQuem Hobson (Springfield, IL /
Lanphier) hit the mark in the long jump
with a personal best of 23’3½“. Hobson
also qualified for the championships as
the fourth member of the 4x100m Relay
team.
It is never easy to replace a national
champion, let alone a 3-time national
champion. Things get even more difficult
when you also have to fill the spot left
void by a 7-time national qualifier. That
is exactly the task set before the 2011
Greenville Panther as they seek to cover
ground left by Edgar Townsend and
Rodney Oyler. The men will attempt to do
so through a excellent balance of young
talent and national level experience.
Leading the charge will be Mark Mitchell.
The senior looks to cap his career with
yet another trip to the national finals and
a chance to improve on his personal
bests of 10.59 (100m) and 21.49 (200m).
As was the case in the 2010 season,
Mitchell will be pushed step for step by
4x100m relay teammate Brian White who
has a personal best of 10.89 in the 100m.
This pair, along with several impressive
freshmen, could prove to make the sprints
Greenville’s top event group in the coming
season.
Top jumper Warith Fennoy will attempt to
etter his national position in the Triple
Jump and secure a spot for himself in the
national finals. In other field event action
it is the tandem of Austin Teer (Abbotsford,
BC, Canada) and Alex Wilson (Leoti, KS /
Greely County) competing for the top spot in
the Javelin. The two bring PR’s of 172’6” and
164’, respectively, into action this season.
On the distance side, Cole Prins (Erie, IL /
Erie) will push the pace for the Panthers.
After a breakout 2010 season that saw him
drop his 5,000m PR to 15:39, he continued
to progress throughout a cross country
campaign where he improved by almost a
full minute to 25:46 (8,000m). He will attempt
to convert this success into even better
things for his final season. Prins will be
pushed by sophomore Alan Hollingsworth
(Monticello, IL / Monticello). Despite a few
good races, Alan struggled through his
freshman year, but found his footing during
the cross country season as he ran a team
best 25:27. The previous year’s experience
has given Hollingsworth confidence and
strength to consistently contend in any race
from 800m up to 5,000m.
Coree Woltering is the top returner among
the middle-distance runners. Coree’s
season was cut short last year as he missed
the end of the indoor and all of the outdoor
season with a stress fracture. Before the
injury he was on course to have an excellent
season, running 1:56.41 in the indoor 800m
and 4:23.83 in the indoor Mile. In addition
to Woltering, the middle distance team also
hopes to see success from the return of
Barry Parks. Parks had a slow beginning
track season as he rebounded from a season
ending-injury during the cross country
season. In his recovery he still managed to
put together a personal best 4:06.28 1500m.
TRACK & FIELD CROSS COUNTRY
13
It will be an exciting year for the Greenville
College Men’s Track and Field team as the
young squad steps up into new roles of
leadership and the next group of national
qualifiers emerge.
