There is a wide choice of sensing modules and each one stores all the<br />

necessary data about its type identification, sensing range and specific<br />

calibration. This data is automatically recognised by SENTRO when the<br />

eModule is plugged in.<br />

4000 points of date-stamped measurements are also logged and can be<br />

reviewed by connecting the module to a USB port of a standard PC.<br />

The service history of the module and the condition of the sensing<br />

element are also recorded.<br />

The eModules are pre-calibrated so can be substituted at any time by a<br />

replacement module – usually of the same type, but an alternative may<br />

be inserted if required.<br />

Security coding can be used to ensure that the same type of SENTRO<br />

eModule is always used.<br />

TOXIC GASES • ELECTROCHEMICAL CELLS<br />

SENTRO eModule for monitoring toxic <strong>gas</strong>es present in the environment using<br />

electrochemical cells, combining good sensitivity at low <strong>gas</strong> concentrations with<br />

high range capability and excellent stability.<br />

The cells have a natural life of about two years, dependent upon monitoring<br />

conditions and the module can be quickly replaced and serviced at the end of its<br />

working life.<br />

Toxic <strong>gas</strong> SENTRO eModules have very low power consumption so enabling the<br />

4...20mA two wire, line powered version of SENTRO (TX6352) to be used when<br />

preferred.<br />

SENTRO eModule<br />

FLAMMABLE GASES • POISON RESISTANT CATALYTIC SENSOR<br />

SENTRO eModule utilising a poison resistant catalytic combustion <strong>sensor</strong> to<br />

monitor flammable <strong>gas</strong>es present in the atmosphere. The <strong>sensor</strong> will respond to<br />

most flammable <strong>gas</strong>es and vapours to varying degrees; it is normally calibrated<br />

to methane in terms of %LEL or %volume. Very good sensitivity at low levels of<br />

concentration but not suitable for use above the LEL level. Calibration for other<br />

flammable <strong>gas</strong>es can also be provided.<br />

The relatively large mass of the sensing element assures a long and reliable<br />

operating life with exceptional stability, even in conditions of high vibration.<br />

The natural life of the <strong>sensor</strong> is about five years depending upon the monitoring<br />

conditions and the module can be quickly replaced and serviced at the end of its<br />

operating life.<br />

CARBON DIOXIDE/ METHANE GASES • INFRARED SENSOR<br />

SENTRO eModules with an infrared <strong>sensor</strong> are used for monitoring environmental<br />

concentrations of either carbon dioxide or methane <strong>gas</strong>es.<br />

This <strong>sensor</strong> is highly specific to the selected <strong>gas</strong> and exhibits consistent sensing<br />

accuracy with superior long term stability; so minimising calibration and<br />

maintenance.<br />

The essentially linear response and high sensitivity of the <strong>sensor</strong> means that it<br />

can be calibrated equally well for low <strong>gas</strong> concentrations and high<br />

concentrations up to 100% by volume.<br />

GAS SENSING MODULE SETTINGS<br />

Gas sensing modules are normally supplied with preset function data and no<br />

further setting-up will be necessary – SENTRO will immediately recognise the<br />

module and its settings when it is loaded.<br />

Module parameters can also be setup to individual requirements when requested.<br />

Scaling, duty text and setpoint alarm values are pre-programmed.<br />
