MINUTES HELENA CITY COUNCIL
REGULAR MEETING
AUGUST 20, 2007
The Council of the City of Helena met in a regular scheduled meeting on
Monday, August 20, 2007 in the Helena Municipal Building at 6:00 P.M.,
regular place and time for holding said meetings.
Mayor Penhale called the meeting to order at 6:01 P.M. and led prayer.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all.

Mayor Penhale declared a quorum present and meeting was opened for business.
Jerry Pate made a motion to approve the minutes as written from the July 16,
2007 meeting with a second by Katherine Ennis and the following votes were
cast:

Jerry Pate made a motion to approve the minutes as written from the August 6,
2007 meeting with a second by Colleen Lenz and the following votes were cast:
AYE:
NAY:
ABSTAIN:
Colleen Lenz, Jerry Pate and Mayor Penhale
None

Motion carried.
Current bills were dispensed until the next regular meeting.
Terry Doane – 324 Falliston Court – Home Occupation License – “H²O Evolution”
(letter of request becomes part of minutes)
Mr. Doane was present at the meeting to answer any questions the Mayor and
City Council may have in reference to this request.
Katherine Ennis noted that his letter specified that you have (2) offices but
you do plan to be the only person working from your residence in this
business.
Mr. Doane replied “yes”.
Mayor Penhale asked if there were any other questions and/or comments.
Jerry Pate related to Mr. Doane of the understanding of no signs, no
additional traffic in the neighborhood, etc. and where did he store his
bottles and dispensers.

Mr. Doane replied that he 100% understood the regulations of the home
occupation license. He does not sell bottled water, what he sells is selfcontained
machines and can be stored in his garage.
There being no further questions, Mayor Penhale entertained a motion.
Jerry Pate made a motion to approve the home occupation license for Mr.
Doane, H²O Evolution with a second by Colleen Lenz and the following votes
were cast:

Motion carried.
Mayor Penhale – Present Plaque – Kevin Mahon
(copy of plaque becomes part of minutes)
Mayor Penhale was very proud and glad to present a plaque to a young man that
lives in the St. Charles Subdivision, Kevin Mahon who took upon himself to
keep the streets clean in his neighborhood.
Mayor Penhale read aloud the inscription on the plaque as he presented the
plaque to Kevin Mahon.
There being no further business, Mayor Penhale duly adjourned meeting at 6:07
P.M.
