While most members know about their hours of work and how much they get paid, not all parts of people's Collective<br />
Agreement are so familiar. One important piece that tends to get overlooked is your right to Union Representation and the<br />
role of your <strong>Job</strong> <strong>Steward</strong>s helping you out in the workplace, day to day.<br />
At <strong>ICBC</strong> Head Office your Executive Councillors and <strong>Job</strong> <strong>Steward</strong>s are:<br />

Article 2 of your Collective Agreement provides important information on the recognized rights of <strong>Steward</strong>s and<br />
Councillors in the workplace, as well as your right to have Union representation if a manager calls you into their office to<br />
talk to you. You have a right under Article 2.14 to have a <strong>Job</strong> <strong>Steward</strong> (Executive Councillors are also <strong>Job</strong> <strong>Steward</strong>s)<br />
present at any meeting where the specific intent is to administer discipline.<br />
Please contact any of the <strong>Job</strong> <strong>Steward</strong>s listed above to accompany you to a meeting with management where you suspect<br />
discipline may result. It is important that you exercise this right to make sure you have someone else there on your side<br />
and the ability to create your own record of what is said. Management always has two people in the room and it is<br />
important that you do not go into the meeting alone.<br />
We also need your help in keeping your Councillors and <strong>Steward</strong>s informed of issues in your workplace. Your vigilance will<br />
aid us in holding the Corporation to account for their actions and ensuring that they are following the Collective Agreement.
