Managing your 401(k) Plan is
Simple With NextLevel(k)

INVESTMENT OPTIONS
Many plan providers think that the more funds they can pack into a plan line-up the better the plan is and the
better the participant outcomes will be. When the reality is much different, too many choices often paralyze
participants and they end up not being able to decide, allocating an equal percentage to each fund in the
lineup or picking last year’s top performing funds.
NextLevel(k) is designed to provide freedom of choice for those that are comfortable developing their own
allocations but at the same time offering solutions for the majority of participants that need additional guidance.
AVAILABLE OPTIONS
OPTION 1
Participants can choose from a menu of funds selected by the NextLevel(k)
investment team. We screen funds available on the open architecture platforms
using the RPAG Scorecard System and provide a select lineup of best-in-class
active and passive index funds. The lineup will also include a full set of
Target Date funds.
OPTION 2
Participants can choose from one of five managed portfolios constructed
and managed by the NextLevel(k) investment team. These models are
designed to give participants a professionally managed, single-choice
option that can match their risk tolerance and return needs.
OPTION 3
Participants can build and manage their own portfolio through a
self-directed brokerage window offered by the custodians in the
NextLevel(k) program. With this option, participants can also retain the
services of an independent investment advisor to manage their portfolio
for them.
Plan sponsors can choose to offer Option 1, Options 1 & 2 or all three with no
additional plan investment advisory cost. With Option 3, most record keepers
charge a nominal additional fee to the plan and each participant.
NextLevel(k) Focus
FEES
NextLevel(k) provides full fee transparency
in contrast to hidden fees often associated
with the majority of 401(k) plans. In addition,
our total plan costs are almost always lower
than the typical insurance company 401(k)
plans. Transparency is critical to your
fiduciary role and lower fees enhance your
plan’s growth.
FEES, FUNDS, FIDUCIARY
FUNDS
As an independent firm, using independent
open architecture providers, we are able to
construct your plan’s fund lineup by screening
thousands of funds and ETF’s. We are able to
use institutionally priced funds regardless of
plan size. We can also construct
professionally managed investment models for
your participants to eliminate the uncertainty
that participants have in picking funds on their
own.
FIDUCIARY PROTECTIONS
Providing a comprehensive retirement plan
for your employees can be complex and
time-consuming, and understanding and
executing your fiduciary responsibility can be
overwhelming. BCJ Financial Group has the
experience and knowledge to support you in
your role as the plan fiduciary, providing a
fiduciary “safe harbor” for your investment
liability. With the NextLevel(k) Retirement
Plan Service Model, you will receive a full
spectrum of fiduciary support including
fiduciary plan reviews, training,
diagnostics and benchmarking.
PLAN ADVISORS
Your plan advisor is the quarterback of your NextLevel(k) team of experts. Their focus is you and the
plan participants. They will be instrumental in picking your team, coordinating fiduciary and plan
governance support, and provide participant education. They will be your “go to” point of contact.
THE RIGHT FUNDS
FOR THE RIGHT PLAN
INVESTMENT ADVISORS
As the national Portfolio Manager in the NextLevel(k), TBA Group serves as an investment
fiduciary for your plan and provides the plan with the required “Prudent Investment
Process” consistently applied.
As a 3(21) fiduciary, they serve in a
non-discretionary co-fiduciary role and provide
advice for the plan’s investment line-up, qualified
default investment (QDIA) and investment models.
The 3(38) role represents a significant
shift in fiduciary responsibilities and
creates an investment “safe-harbor” for
plan sponsors.
As a 3(38) Investment Manager, they serve
in a discretionary advisor role for selection and
monitoring of the plan’s fund line-up, select the plan’s
QDIA and manage the investment models.
TBA Group is a member of the
Retirement Plan Advisor Group
which provides a fiduciary
investment process to over 28,000
plans and $150 billion of assets
safety and security of the plan’s assets.
