Supreme Court Daily List – No longer published in The Age
For many years, The Age newspaper has published the Daily Law List at no cost to courts
and tribunals. Earlier this month, The Age advised the CEOs of all courts and tribunals
(Federal & Victorian) that it has made changes to its business pages (effective Monday 26
October) that lead to a decision by the newspaper to seek a fee (from courts and tribunals)
to continue publishing the Law Lists.
The Supreme Court’s budgetary constraints prevent it from paying the proposed new
publishing costs. As of Monday 2 November, the Supreme Court Daily List will not appear
in The Age newspaper. The Court has been advised that most other jurisdictions will take
similar action, but members are advised to seek independent confirmation.
The Supreme Court of Victoria’s Daily List will continue to be available on the court’s
website. Members can also access the Supreme Court Daily List, as well as other Victorian
and Commonwealth court lists, on the Victorian Bar website.
