<strong>CR</strong>-M is a portable, mini-compact range suited to antenna measurement applications where<br />

space is limited or the fl exibility of a portable system is required. <strong>Mini</strong> compact ranges<br />

are particularly well-suited for high frequency antenna testing as well as for production testing<br />

or for a space-saving research tool.<br />

<strong>The</strong> basic confi guration allows for single plane patterns<br />

to be collected using standard Vector Network Analyzers.<br />

<strong>The</strong> chamber provides a modest level of shielding<br />

and allows for easy access to the AUT positioner and<br />

compact range feed area. <strong>The</strong> chamber is mounted on a<br />

caster assembly for convenient transportation between<br />

different production or test sites.<br />

A compact range feed polarization rotator allows the<br />

transmit polarization to be changed during a single test<br />

or in between tests. Linked axis motion of the transmit<br />

rotator and optional roll axis allows for automatic acquisition<br />

of E & H plane patterns in a single test. <strong>The</strong> AL-4160<br />

series controller allows for control of up to four (4) axes,<br />

and allows for simultaneous motion if required. Optional<br />

pre-test or real time switching through use of the<br />

OFR 9800 high speed switch controller allows collection<br />

of multiple channel data. An optional squint (elevation)<br />

axis allows E&H plane patterns through the peak of the<br />

beam in case electrical and mechanical boresight do not<br />

co-incide.<br />

<strong>The</strong> data acquisition workstation comes equipped with<br />

either the 959Spectrum or MiDAS software, depending<br />

on location, allowing for a versatile and powerful data<br />

acquisition and analysis tool.<br />
