Cape Town is defined, first and foremost, by Table Mountain. Rising<br />

3,567 ft from the coastal plain, it supervises almost every view of the city<br />

backdrops. Table Mountain sustains over 1400 species of flora, and<br />

countless birds.<br />

2. DISTRICT SIX MUSEUM:<br />

The small museum, housed in the Methodist Church, is one of Cape<br />

Town’s most powerful exhibitions and it gives a fascinating glimpse of<br />

insanity of separation. The museum contains lively collection of<br />

photographs and personal accounts depicting life before and after<br />

removals.<br />

3. CITY HALL:


This is the largest space in Cape Town and was originally used for<br />

garrison parades before the castle was completed. Today the Oak­linked<br />

parade is used as a car park and twice a week it is taken over by a<br />

colorful market.<br />

4. GREEN MARKET SQUARE:<br />

Green Market Square is the old heart of Cape Town and the second<br />

oldest square in the city. It has been a meeting place, and during the 19 th<br />

century it became a vegetable market. Today it remains a popular<br />

meeting place, with a busy market, selling African craft, jewellery and<br />

clothes.<br />

5.LONGSTREET:<br />

This is one of the trendiest places in Cape Town, and gets particularly<br />

lively night, lined with street cafes, shops, bars, clubs and backpacker<br />

hostels. It is also home to some fine old city buildings.<br />

6. VICTORIA AND ALFRED WATERFRONT:<br />

The Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, Cape Town’s original Victorian<br />

harbor, is the city’s most popular attraction. The area was completely<br />

restored in the early 1990’s and today it is a lively district packed with<br />

eatery, bars and shops.<br />

7. ROBBEN ISLAND:<br />

An air­conditioned catamaran completes the half­hour journey to the<br />

island. Tour begins with a drive around the key sites on the island.<br />

Robben Island is best known as the notorious prison that held many of<br />

the ANC’s most prominent members. It is also possible to view wildlife<br />

on the island. There are over 100 species of bird on the island and it is<br />

an important breeding site for African penguins.
