26. Segment information<br />

<strong>Geberit</strong> Group<br />

The Group consists of a single business segment: the design, manufacture<br />

and sale of sanitary plumbing systems to the residential and commercial<br />

construction industry. The business segment is divided into geographical<br />

regions.<br />

The segment “Other European core markets” includes Austria, Great Britain,<br />

The Netherlands, Belgium and France. All other European markets are summarised<br />

in the segment “Other European markets”.<br />

The segment “Other markets” includes principally the usa and China. The<br />

segment “Corporate Functions” consists in particular of <strong>Geberit</strong> Holding ag<br />

and <strong>Geberit</strong> International ag as the central management companies, and<br />

the research and development company <strong>Geberit</strong> Technik ag.<br />

Balance sheet and profit information are allocated to the geographical segments<br />

in accordance with the jurisdiction where the assets and liabilities are<br />

located and the profits are generated.<br />

The Group considers operating profit before amortisation to be the segment<br />

result. Group companies principally account for intersegment sales on the<br />

“<br />

market-minus” method.<br />

Balance sheet information on the corporate functions include unallocated<br />

assets and liabilities of the Group which consist of cash and cash equivalents,<br />

goodwill, income tax assets and liabilities, certain intangible assets and financial<br />

assets and liabilities. Inter-company transactions have been eliminated<br />

in the column “Eliminations”.<br />
