NEXT LIMIT TECHNOLOGIES is a computer
software company headquartered in Madrid,
Spain. Founded in 1998 by engineers Victor
Gonzalez and Ignacio Vargas. The company
investigates and creates innovative software
technologies that lead to activities in physical
simulation and visualization products for
engineering and entertainment industries.
NEXT LIMIT has gained a worldwide reputation
for the quality and power of its software
simulation tools. Their products include XFlow
(CFD software for engineering and scientific
applications), Maxwell Render (physically
accurate light simulation and render engine),
RealFlow (fluid and dynamics simulation for 3D
visual effects). RealFlow has been used in the
production of films such as: The Lord of the
Rings: The Return of the King, 300, Charlie and
the Chocolate Factory, Pompeii, The Girl with
the Dragon Tattoo, and others. The most recent
project in development is RoomBox, a web
platform with Cloud technology that allows for
the creation of 3D content.
Some of NEXT LIMIT’S awards include the
Academy Technical Achievement Award
2008 (The Oscars), Segundo de Chomón
2008 from The Spanish Academy of Arts and
Cinematographic Sciences, IST prize from the
European Commission.
