But to the students of JSSPS, 18 th May, 2013 dawned with the
confidence of having achieved well on the momentous occasion of the
school’s 2 nd Annual Prize Day Function. A huge wall outside the
auditorium proudly displayed the names of the award winners in
golden cups.
The auditorium was filled with proud parents, eager students and the
smiling teachers whose yearlong efforts have come to fruition.
The day was presided by the august gathering of Mr Masanori
Nagamini, the Principal of the Dubai Japanese School, Our Principal
Mrs Chitra Sharma and our Headmaster Mr Paramjit Ahluwalia.
A traditional start with both the Quran recital and the lighting of the
lamp marked the beginning of a beautiful morning.
In her welcome address, Principal Mrs Chitra Sharma stressed that
‘JSSPS embodies an ethos that strives for excellence in all fields’. She
welcomed our Chief Guest Mr Masanori Nagamini, an eminent
speaker and an erudite scholar known for his vision and dynamic
leadership. She then welcomed our esteemed partners, the Parent
Forum members and all the other parents, teachers and every one of
the prize winners, the stars of the day.

A visual journey of the year 2012 -13 was beautifully encapsulated in
a pulsating 15 min video.
The Guest of honour Mr Masanori Nagamini, in his speech
emphasised on collaboration and working together.
The pride of the day – the award winners then came forward to accept
their rightful laurels from the Guest of Honour, Principal and
Headmaster.
As the list of achievers was a long one, the audience were kept
entertained with short breaks of dazzling dance and music by the
students. Indeed the whole award ceremony shifted to a higher
platform of deliverance.

Keeping this in mind, we at JSS continue in our stride to seek, to
learn, to excel and never to yield.
