Visit to the Sharjah Museum<br />
Sharjah Museum of Islamic Culture was established in 2006, by His Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin<br />
Mohammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah. Sharjah Museum Department is divided into various<br />
categories – Art, Heritage, History and Discovery. This Government entity aims at providing<br />
service to the community, by offering a range of facilities – regional and international<br />
exhibitions, educational programs etc.<br />
The students of <strong>JSS</strong>PS were fortunate enough to visit this great place which is filled with UAE<br />
culture and history. Our students of grades 4 – 8, visited the museum on 24 th of October.<br />
Through this educational trip our <strong>JSS</strong>ites were introduced to some very unique aspects of the<br />
rich Islamic culture. The students got to know more about<br />

the first Caliph of Muslims, Abu Baker Siddique,<br />
the history of Makkah (Kabah) which was built by Prophet Ibrahim and Ismail.<br />
Steps of performing Hajj<br />
Muslim structures, Uthmani constructions, traditional designs, paintings etc.<br />
The visit to Ibn Ul Haitham Gallary was an altogether different experience in itself.<br />
This trip enlightened our students and they were able to understand and respect the richness<br />
and uniqueness of the culture and religion of UAE.<br />
