<strong>Education</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>new</strong> <strong>challenges</strong><br />
website (9 375 000 users in January 2011) – an encyclopaedia created by volunteers<br />
which is commonly used as a source of information by school <strong>and</strong> university students.<br />
The studies carried out by Mariusz Jędrzejko show that 54% of students at public institutions<br />
<strong>and</strong> 72% of students at non-public institutions admitted using Wikipedia as the<br />
main source of information when working on their bachelor’s <strong>and</strong> master’s theses. 49<br />

Due to the rather mediocre level of computer equipment in schools <strong>and</strong> homes<br />
high software costs <strong>and</strong> the level of computer science classes, young people in Pol<strong>and</strong><br />
go rather poorly in the surveys of computer literacy compared to young people in other<br />
European countries. In a three-level assessment, 33% of young people represent high<br />
