OVERIEW OF THE PROGRAM<br />

The aim of two years graduate studies <strong>in</strong> Economy, specialized <strong>in</strong> Economics and Organization of Enterprises<br />

(<strong>MEO</strong>) taught <strong>in</strong> <strong>English</strong> at Faculty of Economic Sciences of Warsaw University of Life Sciences – <strong>SGGW</strong> is to<br />

provide the students with broad academic knowledge and to develop professional skills which will enable the future<br />

successful professionals to prepare for their careers <strong>in</strong> corporate organizations as well as to run their own bus<strong>in</strong>esses<br />

<strong>in</strong> the dynamic global environment. The use of <strong>English</strong> as the language of bus<strong>in</strong>ess, politics and contemporary affairs<br />

will <strong>in</strong>tegrate students <strong>in</strong>to the ma<strong>in</strong>stream of the profession. <strong>MEO</strong> is designed especially for those with a<br />

question<strong>in</strong>g m<strong>in</strong>d, good <strong>in</strong>tellect and strong analytical skills. Graduates are expected to be able to l<strong>in</strong>k scientific<br />

skills with economic problems to analyze economic issues and devise new strategies and policies for research,<br />

bus<strong>in</strong>ess or governments.<br />

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS<br />

Applicants must possess all of the follow<strong>in</strong>g qualifications <strong>in</strong> order to be eligible:<br />

- At least B.Sc. <strong>in</strong> Economy, Economics, Management or related discipl<strong>in</strong>es at time of application.<br />

- Citizenship or permanent resident status qualify<strong>in</strong>g the applicant to hold a valid passport issued <strong>in</strong> the<br />

country <strong>in</strong> which the application is made.<br />

- If applicable a visa that enables to study <strong>in</strong> Poland.<br />

- Confirmed proficiency <strong>in</strong> <strong>English</strong> appropriate to take active part <strong>in</strong> all lectures and classes.<br />

- Sound physical and mental health.<br />

- Ensured appropriate foundl<strong>in</strong>gs to pay tuition fee, study fee and liv<strong>in</strong>g expenses for two years program.<br />

In addition applicants should note the follow<strong>in</strong>g conditions affect<strong>in</strong>g review and selection of candidates:<br />

- Applicants will be considered without regard to race, religion, sex, age, and/or physical impairment.<br />

- Applicants should demonstrate the cross-cultural sensitivity and flexibility needed to adjust successfully to<br />

life <strong>in</strong> Poland.<br />

The <strong>MEO</strong> program is fully commercial activity addressed for students from Poland and other countries.<br />

APPLICATION AND REVIEW PROCESS<br />

- The candidate need to fulfill the requirements of application and submit the application until August 1st,<br />

2008.<br />

- The tuition fee is 200 euro (non refundable). The account no. is provided at the web page of <strong>MEO</strong><br />

program.<br />

- Should the candidate be accepted she or he will be asked to sign the <strong>Study</strong> Agreement and pay firs<br />

<strong>in</strong>stallment of annual study fee.<br />

- The annual study fee for enrolment <strong>in</strong> academic year 2008/2009 is 2500 euro (for full 2 years<br />

program 5000 euro).


<strong>MEO</strong> APPLICATION<br />

Instructions:<br />

1. All forms <strong>in</strong> this application are to be completed <strong>in</strong> <strong>English</strong> and typewritten <strong>in</strong> black <strong>in</strong>k or pr<strong>in</strong>ted from a<br />

computer.<br />

2. Every question must be answered completely. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Please limit your<br />

responses to the space provided.<br />

3. Proofread the entire application before submitt<strong>in</strong>g it. The application should be free of grammatical and spell<strong>in</strong>g<br />

errors.<br />

1. Personal statement<br />

Please submit a one-page written <strong>in</strong> <strong>English</strong> narrative statement discuss<strong>in</strong>g your professional and academic<br />

development as well as future plans. With reference to your personal qualities and experience, please discuss your<br />

ability to jo<strong>in</strong> graduate program <strong>in</strong> economics and management <strong>in</strong> Poland. ‘Personal Statement’ should not be a mere<br />

list<strong>in</strong>g of facts, nor should it repeat the content of your personal data. Rather, it should <strong>in</strong>clude <strong>in</strong>formation about your<br />

education and career, scholarly activities, special <strong>in</strong>terests, and the reason for which you wish to study <strong>in</strong> Poland.<br />

2. Two letters of reference.<br />

Please arrange for the submission of letters from two persons qualified to evaluate your academic and professional<br />

development and personal suitability to the program. Letters of reference should be written by professors under whom<br />

you have studied or pursued research or by someone who has supervised you <strong>in</strong> the workplace. Where applicable, one<br />

reference should be from your thesis supervisor. Letters of reference should be written <strong>in</strong> <strong>English</strong> and should not be<br />

written by persons related to you either by blood or marriage, or by personal friends.<br />

There is required an orig<strong>in</strong>al of FCE certificate, TOEFL certificate, or other certificate or official confirmation form<br />

the University Language Center about the <strong>English</strong> skills.<br />

6 Academic transcript (supplement)<br />

Along with the submitted diploma (B.Sc. or M.Sc.) there is required an academic transcript- a list of all subject passed<br />

for the curriculum complete and certified by the competent authority of home university. If the transcript is not <strong>in</strong><br />

Polish ,please provide an <strong>English</strong> version. THE ACADEMIC TRANSCRIPT SHOULD INCLUDE THE NAME AND<br />

ADDRESS, INCLUDING E-MAIL OF COMPETETNT AUTHORITY ISSUING THIS DOCUMENT.<br />

7. Passport’s copy<br />

There is required a copy passport pages where picture and personal data are mentioned, along with its sworn<br />

translation <strong>in</strong>to <strong>English</strong>. For Polish citizens the copy of Personal ID is required.<br />
