Day 1 Sunday 11 August 2013 Depart Brisbane
Depart Brisbane. Please note the tour is fully escorted ex Brisbane. If you are departing from Sydney or Melbourne
you will meet up with the group and your Go See Touring escort in transit at the airport in Kuala Lumpur.
Day 2 Monday 12 August 2013 (L, D) Arrive Kota Kinabalu
On arrival at Kota Kinabalu International Airport, you will be met by your guide and transfer to your hotel. Lunch
will be available at the hotel prior to checking into your rooms. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure and welcome
dinner tonight is at the hotel.
Day 3 Tuesday 13 August 2013 (B, L, D) Kota Kinabalu City & Shopping Tour
An introductory tour of Kota Kinabalu, the State Capital of Sabah - The Land Below The Wind. Visit the Sabah
Foundation Building, the Sabah State Museum and the State Mosque. Drive to Tanjung Aru and Lunch today is at
local restaurant. After lunch it’s off to the city’s shopping precinct before returning to your hotel. Dinner tonight
is at the hotel.
Day 4 Wednesday 14 August 2013 (B, L, D) Kinabalu National Park/ Poring Hot Springs Sandakan
This morning depart for Kinabalu National Park. Take a guided walk to the mountain garden to see rare collections
of mountain plants and flowers. After lunch you depart to the Poring Hot Spring. Continue your journey to
Sandakan where you will check into your hotel. Dinner tonight is at your hotel.
Day 5 Thursday 15 August 2013 (B, L, D) Sandakan Day Memorial Service/ Sepilok / Colonial Sandakan and City Tour
After an early breakfast you will be transferred to the Sandakan Day Service at the Australian POW War Memorial
Garden. After the service is concluded you will proceed to the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation centre. After lunch
at a local restaurant visit the famed Agnes Keith’s restored house which is now a museum. A short tour of Sandakan
follows. Dinner tonight is at the hotel.
Day 6 Friday 16 August 2013 (B, L, D) Sandakan/Kinabatangan
After breakfast you depart Sandakan by land to Sukau village which is located by the Kinabatangan River. Check
in to the Sukau River Lodge for an overnight stay. Lunch is at the lodge. Enjoy a boat trip to watch the curious
proboscis monkeys gather by the river bank and it’s also a good chance to see numerous species of birds and
other wildlife until nightfall. Then it’s back to the Sabah hotel for dinner and a slide show.
Day 7 Saturday 17 August 2013 (B, L, D) Kinabatangan / Sabah Tea Plantation/ War Memorial/Kota Kinabalu
After breakfast at the lodge and checking out follow the Death March route to return to Kota Kinabalu where
almost two thousands Australian POW’s were killed along the way. Enroute we visit the Sabah Tea Garden which
is nestled in the lush tropical wilderness of one of the world’s oldest rainforest. Continue your journey to Kota
Kinabalu. Stop by the Australian War Memorial in Kundasang which was established as a tribute to the memory
of the Australians and British POWs who died in Sandakan, Ranau or during the Death Marches. Returning to Kota
Kinabalu check into your hotel. Dinner tonight is at the hotel.
Day 8 Sunday 18 August 2013 (B, L, D) Kudat / Rungus Longhouse / Tip of Borneo
After breakfast drive north to Kudat. Visit a traditional Rungus longhouse in a village just outside Kudat and after
lunch proceed to a modern Rungus longhouse. Proceed to Kudat which is famous for its fishing and boat repair
industry. Return to Kota Kinabalu and transfer to your hotel. Dinner tonight is at the hotel.
Day 9 Monday 19 August 2013 (B, L, D) Historical Labuan Tour / Cultural Dinner
Early this morning after breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Labuan. Upon arrival, you
will proceed on a tour of historic Labuan where Japanese Soldiers surrendered to the Allied forces during World War
Two. After lunch, transfer back to the airport to board your flight for Kota Kinabalu. Dinner tonight is at the hotel.
Day 10 Tuesday 20 August 2013 (B, L, D) Island Hopping (Mamutik)
After breakfast this morning transfer to the jetty for a boat trip to Mamutik Island. Lunch will be served at the
island. An afternoon boat trip will take you back to the mainland. This evening it’s off to a local Seafood Restaurant
for a seafood dinner.
Day 11 Wednesday 21 August 2013 (B)Depart Kota Kinabalu – Arrive Brisbane
Depart Hyatt Regency Kinabalu and transfer to the Kota Kinabalu International Airport for your departure flight home.
