were attached to great lengths of chain. I could see blood trickling from their bindings. Hobgoblins kept kicking<br />
them to the ground and they would fall on top of each other. To stay down was to die, and to die was to doom the<br />
men next to you to carry you.<br />
‘They captured the burgomaster. I saw him bound to the others. He was comforting the men, telling them that the<br />
Elector would send an army and free them all. They cut his tongue out.<br />
