Editorial
Martin Luther said that prayer is the daily business of every Christian.
In this daily communication with God, the Christian grows stronger in
faith and richer in understanding of God.
There are three aspects of the prayer life which, if remembered and
practised, will make praying a daily necessity.
First, prayers should be God-centred. Many of our prayers centre on our
own problems and desires. We often think we know what is best for our
own lives. We forget that God, who knows all things and knows what
is best for us, may have a will completely different from our own. We
need to follow Jesus’ example, which encouraged His followers to pray:
“Your will be done”.
As we pray for the work of BCA throughout Australia we should be
praying for the things that we know God wants. We know that He
wants more people to hear His Word and come into His Kingdom.
Remember to pray for others before you pray for yourself. By praying
for others you stifle your own selfishness and your love for others
constantly increases. Jesus prayed for others while He was in the death
agony of the cross. Stephen prayed for those who were stoning him.
Thomas More, just before he was led to death by his fellow Englishmen
in the sixteenth century, asked the spectators to pray for the king who
had ordered his execution. It is truly hard to pray for those who hate us
and hurt us. But Jesus said, “Pray for those who persecute you.” As we
pray for those serving the Lord through the work of BCA we are putting
God’s work and His workers before ourselves. Let us continually uphold
in prayer those who are serving the Lord on the mission field.
Last of all, pray for yourself, your own needs and the solving of
your own problems. Because we are such complicated beings with a
thousand and one different wants, we are likely to pray for material
blessings, such as money, health, happiness, jobs, success. Needed as
these blessings are, it is of far greater urgency to pray that God will
forgive us our sins for Jesus’ sake.
We should pray that our knowledge and understanding of God be
constantly enlarged. We should always pray for God’s grace in our lives
and that He will use us in the work of His Kingdom.
Prayer is plugging in to the power house of God to seek His will and
serve Him. KEEP ON PRAYING.

Pray for those older folk who support BCA, for ongoing good health
as Winter ends and Spring begins. BCA’s second appeal for 2013 will
be launched next month. Pray that people will be prepared to give
generously and joyfully to the ongoing work of BCA.
October
Half way through Spring! Pray that we will always give thanks for new
creation as we see it all around us. Help us to smell the roses no matter
how busy we are! Please pray for the BCA Executive as it works on the
budget and new ministry placements for 2014.
November
Pray for all Field Staff as they begin the countdown towards the Advent
and Christmas season. May they practise good management of their
time and may God’s Spirit guide them as to when to “take up” and
when to “lay down” tasks.

Give thanks with Nungalinya College as it celebrates 40 years in the
ministry and mission of Empowering Indigenous Christians. Graduates
are Bible translators, clergy, lay leaders and church workers. This year
they had to close enrolments at 350 part-time students for their
various courses.
October
Pray that God will encourage all Indigenous clergy and lay leaders;
that they will find ways to minister to the needs of people in the
communities they live in; that they will be able to reach out in love to
families struggling with grief and the difficulty of a family member
with a substance abuse problem.
November
Ask God to provide opportunities for Indigenous Christians to be
equipped with the skills they need to lead their churches in worship,
Bible studies, Christian songs in their language, evangelism and
ministry to children. Pray also for opportunities for them to develop
their preaching and teaching skills.
Profile
The honorary role of National Researcher/Adviser on Indigenous
Matters provides assistance to BCA in research and issues relating
to ministry by BCA with Indigenous people. Ministry is widely varied
from BCA having Indigenous BCA staff to others walking alongside
Indigenous people in various capacities. BCA has a long history of
working alongside Indigenous people and desires to continue to work in
partnership with them. Pray for wisdom as future ministry is planned.

• Give thanks for Penrith Anglican College’s trip in July to Broken Hill to
support the Nadens and their work around BCA house.

in Broome for the North West Diocese. First trip was in August and
the second trip going from 14th-20th September.
• Give thanks for the young people and their teachers who go on Dusty
Boots trips. Pray they will understand the importance of BCA and how

them up as a Special Episcopal Mission District.

Over the past four months up to six Nomad Couples have been on site
at Nungalinya College assisting with the new building programme and
undertaking many and varied tasks. We give thanks for their willing
service both there and in numerous locations as they travelled to the
college.
Give thanks for the growing number of Nomads. Eight couples have
enlisted in the past three months. Give thanks also for their willingness
to respond on short notice to calls for assistance from field locations,
particularly Adelong and the new location of Walgett/Collarenebri.
With the ‘wet’ season approaching in the north, much of the Nomad
activity for the year is concluding. Give thanks for the great service that
has been rendered in many locations throughout the country, and pray
for safe travel as Nomads make their way home.

The development of the Nomad Ministry entails both a seeking of
churches where Nomads can make a positive contribution, and
secondly, of recruiting Nomads into the ministry so that it comprises a
wide spectrum of people who are prepared to offer their professional
work experience, craft and hobby skills to provide additional outreach
opportunities for those working in the ‘Field’. Bush Church ministry is a
whole Church responsibility.

for positive discussions about the ministry of BCA at these gatherings.
November
Pray for the farmers as the harvest is gathered. Pray for those who will
not have much to gather into their bins. Pray that those who gather the
harvest of the Lord will be blessed.

The Revd Robert Healy served as Karratha Field Staff from 2000-2001.
He then moved to the parish of Dongara/Mingenew from 2002-2006. In
mid 2006 Rob took up the Parish of Balcatta/Hamersley in the Diocese
of Perth and began to represent Western Australia on the BCA Executive.
He is the new Regional Officer for WA and began this ministry on
the 1st of July 2013.

The hot times have arrived! The tourists have driven off in search of
cooler weather, whilst we turn up the air conditioners! Pray that the
ministry to the locals will be fruitful over this time – with less people
around we can spend more quality time together as a church family.
October
Pray that as we head off to our Diocesan workers conference in Perth
that this will be a great time of fellowship and a re-energising time for
our family.
November
Most people leave Kununurra mid December, so all our Christmas
outreach events will be held this month. Please pray for the family
gingerbread house making day, the women’s Christmas outreach, and
our church Christmas party.
Profile
Kununurra is a growing community in the East Kimberley, fondly known
as the ‘Last Frontier’. With the more than doubling of the Ord irrigation
system in the past year and the increase in mining in the area it is a
continually developing place. St James Anglican Church likewise is a
growing church community who are seeking to grow to be more like
Jesus and to share the Gospel with others. We meet each Sunday at
9:30am.

September brings with it the excitement of our church camp at 80 Mile
Beach. We ask that you pray for a wonderful time of deep fellowship
across all age groups, and a sense of truly belonging to the body of
Christ. Pray for travelling mercies as we all drive the 1400km round trip.

Praise God for the children who are attending our Monday Bible studies,
“Deeper”. Praise God for the strength of men’s ministry developing in our
ever changing congregation. Pray for a continued love of the scriptures
for us as we minister to the least, the last and the lost.
November
Praise God for the newborns in our congregation! As preparations ramp
up for the Newman carols night pray for the commitment of all who will
be involved. May our voice be heard in the exaltation of Jesus alone at
Newman’s only Christian community Christmas event.
Profile
Newman is a small mining town in the heart of Western Australia’s
Pilbara. We believe that Newman is also in God’s heart. There are many
obstructions to leading a full and committed life here as a follower
of Jesus Christ - high incomes, 14 hour days, heavy partying. Many
marriages are put under severe stress. We also have a heart that grieves
for the Indigenous folk, many of whom are enslaved to alcohol and
government benefits. Lord, how all of us in Newman desperately need
you.

Give thanks for the joy of sharing ministry with Frank and Joanne Nicol.
Pray for the various Bible study groups that meet to read God’s word
and share life together. Also pray for our kids ministry to bear fruit in
the lives of the children as they learn about God at Kids Church.
October
This month we travel to Perth for our Diocesean Fellow Workers
Conference followed by a week’s holiday. Please pray for safe travel and
time of refreshment. Pray for Frank and Joanne Nicol as Joanne is due
to give birth to their second child this month.
November
Pray for the church as the end of the year sees some people
announcing they are leaving town which can be discouraging and
unsettling within the parish. Pray for a godly perspective during this
time and wisdom in many events arranged for presenting the true
meaning of Christmas to our community.
Profile
Port Hedland is an isolated community on the WA coast. The port is
the largest exporter of iron ore in the world. The turn over of people
each year is in excess of 50% and is a great challenge to church and
community. Very high wages promote in some a preoccupation with
money and work to the detriment of their spiritual well-being. The
church has just finished a building project of a new rectory and four
2 storey houses which will in the long term see the church become
self-sufficient.

Thank God for the many visitors who have brought encouragement
throughout the cooler months. Pray for the clergy and families of the
North West as they travel to Perth at the end of the month for Clergy
Family Conference. Pray that all participants will be refreshed and
encouraged.
October
Thank God for times of refreshment and renewal. Les and Jenny are
taking leave this month. Pray that it will be a time of refreshment and
renewal.
November
Thank God for the growth we have seen in both the morning and
evening congregations this year. Ask God for the provision of the
resources needed to build a new Church Hall for Children’s Church
particularly, but also for the parish to be able to host additional
outreach events.
Profile
Karratha is the residential, educational and service centre for the West
Pilbara region. Dampier is a major port for the export of iron ore, salt,
and natural gas. The Dampier Seafarers’ Centre services thousands
of visiting seafarers every year. Pray for the Chaplain, Ian McGilvray
and his wife Susan, as they undertake this vital and very demanding
ministry; they are also valuable members of our congregation. Long
work hours, high pay, ‘extreme’ materialism and secularism are constant
barriers that only the Gospel of Jesus can overcome.

Give thanks for our first 6 months of work in Karratha as we consider
new ministry ventures; pray that we will make wise decisions about what
to do and how we use our resources. Pray that any new programmes we
start will be well-integrated into our church’s work as a whole. Pray that
David will grow as a preacher and teacher of God’s word.
October
Pray for early preparation for Christmas services and outreach events.
Pray that we will be purposeful in our planning so that we can effectively
proclaim the Gospel through what we do and say. Pray that we will keep
on following-up the people we have made contact with and that God will
bring people to trust in Jesus. Pray that Traci will use her time in a way
that honours God and cares for her family.
November
Give thanks for our supporters and for the ways God has used their
prayers in His work in Karratha. Pray that plans for the combined
churches’ carols event goes smoothly and those involved will creatively
communicate the Gospel. Give thanks for Daphne’s developing personality
and pray that she learns to follow Jesus as she grows up.

Les and Jenny Gaulton. David is returning to live in the Pilbara after
living in Port Hedland as a child and, while it’s a new experience for the
family they are all looking forward to serving in the North West. David
was ordained deacon in January 2013.

Give thanks that the newly completed Lion’s Park (where we hold ‘BBQ
Church’) is providing a great hub for ministry, as Sean and Clarice Wagenaar
seek to develop ministry to the Indigenous people.
October
Pray for Sunday morning Church, giving thanks for its growth among
both residents and Fly-in Fly-out. Pray also for our one youth and two
adult Bible Study groups, for leaders and members alike.
November
Give thanks for Will and Hannah as they graduate from their Year 13 Gap
Year programme with Youthworks, and as they complete their time living
and ministering in Wickham. Pray also for wisdom in the selection of applicants
for the Year 13 BCA Scholarship in 2014.
Profile
In Australia’s NW (Wickham is 1600kms north of Perth), we often ask for
your prayers regarding the weather, especially for rain. In the tropical
regions there are often only two seasons: the ‘wet’ and the ‘dry’. Our
seasons are, the ‘hot’ (38-48C), and the ‘cool’ (25-35C). It gets far hotter
here from October -April than it does further north, and while they get
huge amounts of rainfall, we only get rain in connection with cyclones
coming down the coast. If these do not eventuate it is ‘dry’ all year round
in the Pilbara. So, in June, when over 250mm fell in a single day (with not
a cyclone in sight), not only were all historical records for the area rewritten,
but many prayers were answered. Praise be to God!

they continue their ministry in the parish.

Give thanks for the income the parish receives from the outdoor
picture theatre. Pray for the resolution of issues relating to its ongoing
operation.

Pray for preparation for Christmas outreaches and services.
Profile
Paraburdoo and Tom Price are iron ore mining towns set 80kms apart
in the Pilbara region. With many employees on fly-in-fly-out, church
attendances vary. Services, Sunday school, studies and visiting are provided
at both centres. There are no school scripture classes but there is
a Chaplain in the high school. Since John and Carol Jenner’s term ended
in early 2011, the parish has been serviced by Bob and Denise Rothwell,
as locum, the McArtneys from Newman on monthly services and Kees
and Cindy Bootsma, former CMS missionaries, who arrived in July for a
few months. The Diocese and BCA continue to seek God’s person for the
permanent appointment.

The SA/NT Office supports ministry from Darwin in the north to Mt

Kirribilli in Sydney who will be running the conference. Pray for Bruce
as he continues to develop a good working relationship with his new
senior minister, The Revd Joshua Kuswadi.

Profile
The aim of the NT Diocesan Youth Minister is to encourage, support and
build youth and leaders so that they are: a) growing in their relationship
with Jesus (DISCIPLESHIP); and b) reaching out to those not yet in a
relationship with Jesus (MISSION). This is primarily achieved by studying
the Bible in relationship. The Diocesan Youth Minister works part-time
at St Peter’s Nightcliff modelling youth ministry; and part time training
and encouraging throughout the NT including Arnhem Land churches.

Please pray for Joh as she seeks God’s direction with her work as a
Psychologist on the island. It is much needed but there is no clear
pathway or funding to get started. Pray also for our ‘Blessing of the
Fleece’ service and play seeking to connect with local farmers and bless
them.
November
Pray for Brad to be bold, humble and wise in preaching the Gospel. Pray
for Remembrance Day services and other opportunities to make God
known. Pray that we will all take the call to holy living seriously and
joyfully.
Profile
God is encouraging us through His active presence in the lives of
people on the island. For a small community of 4,500 people with over
500 children in the schools we have great hopes of making further
connection with the families whilst continuing to minister among the
older Christians. In time God will bring home all the people who are
looking for Jesus. May we be beacons pointing them to the answer in
Jesus.

friendship with those inside and outside the church. Pray for Tracey to
build relationships in the school and to stand out as different. Pray for
revival in Coober Pedy.

Carols by Candlelight at the end of November. May it point people to
Jesus. Pray that the Christians will unite and be committed to giving
of their best. Please pray for our 3 children 24, 23 and 21 to make wise
decisions for next year.

Coober Pedy is a unique town which is known as The Opal Capital of
the World. It has 3,500 people of many nationalities and about 700
Aboriginal people. The Catacomb Church seeks to preach the Gospel
faithfully to the locals and the tourists who regularly attend. The
church bus picks up 15 enthusiastic children each week for Sunday
School. Geoff and Tracey have been here one year. They try to represent
Jesus well in their relationships and explain the Christian message
clearly.

to continue faithfully in serving the community for the Gospel under
the leadership of Jane Harris our Lay Assistant and the Church Council.

Give thanks for Bible in the Bush at Red Cliffs as we shared God’s
Word and God’s work through BCA in Roxby Downs. Pray for the Roxby
Downs community celebrating its 25th birthday. May our witness to
God’s goodness and grace over those 25 years bring glory to God and
draw people to meet Jesus.

Roxby Downs is a town of 4500 people in the Far North of SA serving
the BHP Billiton site at Olympic Dam. The planned expansion is not
going ahead just yet and there is a feeling of loss and disappointment
with people losing jobs, projects terminated and businesses feeling
pressured. Thirty nine different nationalities are represented in the
town, mostly non-believers.

Profile
Barry and Avril have spent the past 25 years in Roxby Downs. They
have raised their 3 children there – Adam (24) married to Cara, Paul
(22) and girlfriend Sherin and Keren 18, still live in Roxby. Barry has
worked at the Olympic Dam Mine site in various roles and in January
2012 was appointed the Site Chaplain, working for the Diocese of
Willochra. He is studying theology through Saint Barnabas Theological
College in Adelaide and has just completed the Clinical Pastoral
Education Course. Barry and Avril are active members of the Roxby
Downs Christian Community Church – Avril is the Parish Administrator.
Barry co-ordinates the Know your Bible Study for ladies each week and
participates in the church’s Pastoral Care Ministry. They are both part of
the team which supports the Reverend Mary Lewis in her ministry.

Two weeks holiday followed by a complete round of all four mines. Pray
for Joy and Peter as they spend time together on their holiday with
Peter’s mother and brother. There was supposed to be a family day at
Prominent Hill but was cancelled for economic reasons. People will be
disappointed.
October
Around the mines we go. On 18th Peter is the key note speaker at the
Onkaparinga Mayor’s Breakfast followed by a weekend of Adelaide
Synod.
November
Peter will get around all four mines twice this month. As Christmas
approaches pray for Peter to have words of encouragement for those
with whom he comes into contact and that he will point them to Jesus.
Profile
Peter has four mines that take up all his time. Three mines are two
days and one mine four days. Each day is approximately 15 hours
long starting by 6 am and finishing at around 10pm on a three week
cycle. They are long days. Every day has the opportunity to help people
physically, mentally and most of all, spiritually. Peter also flies about
1000 air km with four airlines each cycle. Joy keeps the home fires
burning and does some casual teaching.

alongside us who have a passion and desire for the Aboriginal people
and prison ministry, but are also called by God to go into this ministry.

and Port Pirie this month. Pray that we will see people saved,
rededicated, healed and delivered during these events.

As we travel around the state reaching out to communities and
churches we ask that you pray for safe travel for us and also that God
will use us mightily to reach out to people with whom we come in
contact during our travels.

We have been ministering in the prisons now for over ten years. In
addition to ministering to the inmates in the prisons we also minister to
their family members on the outside through prayer and other support.
We were previously ministering in the community of Point Pearce until
God called us elsewhere at the end of 2012.

Thank God for the interest in the Regional Victoria Prayer Notes. Pray
for a long-term movement of Epaphras-like wrestling in prayer across
Victoria. Pray that God would guide and encourage Christians as they

The Victorian church has much sin on its hands, notably in regard to
sexual abuse. Pray for conviction of sin, public repentance and a fresh
commitment to mature and holy living. Pray that victims will find
transformative help and healing.
November
Pray that Christians will be “fully assured”. Pray for a new commitment
to evangelism, for missionary-gifted leaders who understand our
post-Christendom world, and for congregations to reach out to their
communities with the forgiveness, love and hope of the Gospel.

Victoria has a large and growing population of 5.5 million people,
with 1.5 million in regional Victoria. Although the church has suffered
through liberal theology and a lack of evangelism, thank God it has
recently grown through immigration, notably among the Chinese,
Sudanese and Karen communities. There are many opportunities for
the expansion of BCA’s ministry, especially in new housing areas, with
youth and young adults, and with immigrant communities.

God for the opportunity to run this and for those who helped out. Pray

changing attitude towards mission. We pray for the local support group
and their work.

As the year stretches out towards summer we pray for the younger
members who face exams and a time of decision making for their
future. We pray for guidance for those leaving University and seeking
to continue their ministry opportunities in the secular arena.

This month a new Parish Council was elected. Give thanks for the
commitment of those who responded to God’s calling in this role and
pray they will be guided to make wise leadership decisions in both
administering and expressing the Gospel locally.

It is hoped to again hold our bi-annual celebration of the “importance
of the sea to us” and recalling those whose lives were lost in the
local seas over the years. The service is held at the local wharf. Please
pray for those who attend that they will be aware of God’s love and
protection.
November
A long tradition on the Island has been the Church Fete in the month
of November. Please give thanks for the support of the community in
making this fund raising successful. At the same time the event will be
an opportunity for sharing our faith.
Profile
The Parish of the Furneaux Islands reaches beyond Flinders Island
to encompass all the 52 islands of the group. Permanent population
exists only on a few, the two main ones being Flinders and Cape
Barren Islands. Contact with parishioners on Cape Barren is difficult
and we pray that God will open new ways to enable positive two-way
communications. Though the population of our islands is small there
are strong community ties and many positive qualities of life which we
pray will open new gospel opportunities amongst the children, the men,
the lonely, the aged and the community in general.

site, and community engagement. Give thanks for those who have
come back to worship the Father and pray for new brothers and sisters
in Christ.

Give thanks for the great celebrations of our centenary of ministry at
Currie. Pray that many community members have found new relevance
in the church and a recharge for the congregation.
Profile
King Island is famous for its beef, cheese and seafood, but this pastoral
economy has been threatened by the closure last year of the Island’s
abattoir. The Island is considering the feasibility of establishing a 200
turbine wind farm on the island in the next few years. The project
could well mean the Island becomes economically viable again, but the
community is also concerned about the disruption to their way of life a
project of this kind could bring.

Thank you so much for your prayers for me (David) as I underwent
major surgery in June. I am deeply thankful to God for a skilful surgeon,
successful operation and loving family and church family. Ever reliant
on God’s grace, I press on as Enabler for the parish of Riverlinks with

resource role for the Diocese. I remain encouraged by those enrolling

Gulargambone is a small town of 500 people located 50 kilometres
from Gilgandra. The town is home to many farming families and has a
large local Indigenous population. The town has one K-12 school which
means many young adults leave town to go to university. Some return
after their studies while others move elsewhere. Alfrene is employed as
Gulargambone Central School’s Chaplain. Alfrene has had many varied
roles with different churches throughout the years.

The parishes of Adelong and Tarcutta are two small parishes about two
hours south west of Canberra and within striking distance of Wagga
Wagga and Gundagai. Both parishes share Keith as Priest-in-Charge
and have small congregations. There is a desire in both parishes for
people to respond to Jesus’ offer of new life. In recent months the BCA
Nomads have contributed to the maintenance of the hall and grounds.

Pray for our annual flower show to be a good connecting point with
the community. There’s a few families in town where only one spouse
is a believer. Pray that the believers will persevere in faith and that their
spouses will come to faith and become enthusiastic about church.
November
Pray that as James conducts weddings, baptisms and funerals, they will
be an effective way of sharing the Gospel and forming relationships
with people in the community. Pray that the people will seek Christ in
these significant life moments.

As the bypass was completed in June, just how much the church
op-shop has been affected is the big question! The parish presently
depends on it in large measure. In the second half of this year pray for
James and Skye that the Lord will enable them to cope with a new baby
while continuing with all the activities of ministry. We pray that our
activity will glorify God and that He will be pleased to let us see fruit
from it, glimmers of which we occasionally notice.

Helena has moved back to part time due to family commitments. This
year Helena is working to expand key areas that have been established

As we anticipate a visiting mission from St Matthews, West Pennant

Hillston is a town on the banks of the Lachlan River. It has a big
agricultural focus and a substantial sheep and cattle industry. Four
churches in town are involved in ministry of the Gospel to town people,
farming families, and other isolated communities. There is a good
degree of co-operation between the churches. Interest in Christianity
has a fairly traditional perspective. However, this in itself becomes a
means of opportunity for people to come into contact with the gospel
of God.

by giving it to others in their parish and then following them up and
asking what they think of the magazine and encouraging them to join
the BCA family.

Pray for doors to open in parishes across Australia that have been
previously closed to having a deputation so that every Anglican
Christian has the opportunity to hear of the great things God is doing

As Winter draws to a close, pray that we finish the Friday night firepit
outreach well and act in wisdom and faithfulness on how to build on
relationships we have made for the Gospel. Give thanks that the firepit
has excited those in the Coledale Bible study for ministry and outreach
in the area.

Please pray that I will be strategic and faithful in outreach to the
area. At times ministry can feel ad hoc and slow. Although this is to
be expected, given the nature of the ministry and area, pray for more
cohesion and clear direction with use of resource and time.

Thank God for Hillvue Scripture. As the year draws to a close and we say
farewell to many students as they go to high school: Pray that somehow
relationships will continue for the sake of the Gospel and that Christ will
be made known to them continually throughout their high school years.

Coledale is a small suburb in the city of Tamworth. Predominately made
up of housing commission, Coledale boasts a considerable Indigenous
population. Although Tamworth has many viable churches, Coledale is

Today we are nearing the end of a week of mission in partnership with
Emmanuel church, Glenhaven. Please pray that those who came to kids
club and family events during the week will keep in contact, come to
trust Jesus, and join our church. Give thanks for the partnership with
Glenhaven.

Give thanks and pray for the outreach service started earlier this year
in Goodooga, a mostly indigenous town. Pray also for fortnightly
Scripture in the primary school (about 30 kids). Pray God will use both
ministries to build up His people in Goodooga.
November
Pray for the Christmas Carol services in our three centres (the Ridge,
Cumborah and Goodooga), that there will be more community
involvement this year, for willing helpers, and that many will hear the
Gospel message in a fresh way.

Lightning Ridge is not a typical country town. It attracts a wide variety
of people; some seeking opal riches, some seeking an affordable place
to live, or just somewhere a bit quirky. In cooler months it attracts

St Francis celebrated its 30th Anniversary on the 21st and 22nd of
September. We give thanks for the preparations and safe travel as
past parishioners journeyed down memory lane. This was a wonderful
occasion in the life of the church as present and past congregation
members came together.

Schools and the Moranbah High school. We uphold the High School
Chaplain as she walks alongside students and teachers. Please pray for
protection upon our children at SOUL Kids, for their lessons and leader
preparation.

Throughout the year we have enjoyed meeting for weekly Bible
studies on Wednesday nights and Thursday mornings. Please pray for
continued spiritual growth and leadership skills. Lord, we also pray for

Profile
From the Past: The story of Moranbah began from 1970. Travelling
ministers from different denominations visited to spiritually nurture
the residents visiting the many rural properties along the way. Many
residents lived in caravans and then the first worship services were
in a school donga. As the church grew they began to meet at the
community centre known today as the Three Crosses. On 3rd September
1983 St. Francis was opened by Bishop George Hearn. Praise be to God.

The Bush Church Aid Society of Australia is an
association of Christians within the Anglican Church
whose vision and goal is Australia for Christ.
BCA has a priority in mission to the isolated, remote urban and rural
people of Australia.
BCA’s purpose is
• to proclaim Christ so that people may respond to Him;
• to nurture Christians in their faith and ministry;
• to strengthen local Christian communities in their mission;
• to provide services of Christian care and advocacy;
• to develop an understanding of Christ’s mission and

opportunity to know and love the Lord Jesus Christ, trust in His
promises, respond to Him in obedience, reflect His character in their
lives, be committed to His church and work for His purpose in the
