Combat proven
For more than one decade, DREHTAINER has
committed its efforts to the protection of military and
civilian personnel in the crisis regions of our time.
Permanently changing threats have significantly
increased the protection requirements.
To this end, DREHTAINER has been able to extend
its unique expertise in close cooperation with
different military partners throughout the world. All
developments and test series have been performed
in accordance with the relevant STANAG 2280 and
4569. The correspondingly proved high protection
levels make the difference.
Even the most sophisticated trials cannot prove the
protective value of a container as strikingly as the
actual protection in case of a real attack. DREHTAINER
containers have already several times been exposed to
direct hits during attacks on different camps and have
impressively evidenced their effectiveness in protecting the
soldiers.
Anti-mine and anti-IED protection
Anti-blast protection
Aside from ballistic threats, the effects of blast impacts
and/or shock waves significantly influence the basic
structure of a container. DREHTAINER has therefore
begun very early to focus its attention to a sophisticated
container construction. Hereby the protection of the
occupants in the interior of a container has obtained top
priority.
Attenuation of RF shielding
Different requirements in the field of communication
and information technology are met in compliance with
the respective technical specifications. An RF shielding
by 20 to 60 dB can be achieved in (blast/ballistic)
protected and in soft-skinned containers. This attenuation
values have also been proved with dockable systems.
The threat to vehicles in crisis regions throughout the
world comes particularly from mines and Improvised
Explosive Devices (IED). These explosives affect the
structure of the vehicle and its body from below and from
the sides. Such impacts are countered by the so-called
Zero Shock ® System.
Its unique effectiveness was proved in several test
series in German and international Technical Centers.
The shock and blast effects to the interior of the vehicles
could be reduced almost to zero. The Zero Shock ®
System is already in use in several armies. This
sustainable system can also be retrofitted in almost
every current type of vehicle.
Ballistic tests
In different test series DREHTAINER containers have
been exposed to direct hits by 107 mm and 122 mm
missiles. In addition the required high protection level
could also be proved through shelling the containers with
standardized shrapnel.
Short-range explosions of 155 mm artillery and 120
mm mortar shells have shown that the underlying
constructions with the employed materials exceed by far
all STANAG requirements.
