Creative Discipline”<br />

Featuring Sylvia Ford<br />

Lattes, c<strong>of</strong>fee and dessert will be served at 6:30pm.<br />

Sylvia Ford M.A. is an Early Childhood Consultant who has been<br />

working with children and families in the San Francisco Bay Area for<br />

over 25 years. This discussion will highlight some aspects <strong>of</strong> early<br />

brain development that help us understand why young children can’t<br />

always do the right thing or control their behavior. Ms. Ford will<br />

include information that can help adults be more creative and<br />

effective with limit-setting, along with strategies and techniques that<br />

can promote positive self-guided behavior in children from infancy to<br />

age eight.<br />

Friends <strong>of</strong> PreSchool Family was formed to support and raise funds<br />

for PreSchool Family’s programs and activities, increase awareness <strong>of</strong><br />

PreSchool Family as a parent education-based preschool program,<br />

and provide access to the general community as a parent resource.<br />

<strong>Palo</strong> <strong>Alto</strong> Chamber<br />

Orchestra’s ‘Sinfonia’ Concert<br />

PACO’s Sinfonia will perform their second<br />

concert <strong>of</strong> the 2007-08 season on Saturday, March<br />

8, with a program including classical and romantic music. The<br />

concert features guest conductor Dawn Harms, a well-known<br />

violinist and teacher who performs with the San Francisco Opera<br />

Orchestra and the New Century Chamber Orchestra. The program<br />

includes Mendelssohn's early string symphony #10 in B minor,<br />

William Grant Still's jazzy "Dances <strong>of</strong> Panama", Elgar's elegant<br />

"Serenade for Strings", and chamber music performed by Sinfonia<br />

ensembles. Tickets are $10/general, $5/senior and student. For more<br />

If you think you know the story <strong>of</strong> Robin Hood, think again!<br />

The legend <strong>of</strong> Robin Hood and his band <strong>of</strong> Merry Men gets<br />

an unforgettable and irreverent facelift in the Terman Middle<br />

School Drama Department production <strong>of</strong> The Somewhat<br />

True Tale <strong>of</strong> Robin Hood. 3 performances in the Terman<br />

Middle School cafetorium on Thursday, March 13th and<br />

Friday, March 14th at 7:30pm and Saturday, March 15th at<br />

2:30pm. Running time is approximately 1 hour and 40<br />

minutes (including intermission) and the show is has<br />

something for everyone - perfect for all ages.<br />

Tickets may be purchased by filling out a ticket order form<br />

(available in the Terman Middle School front <strong>of</strong>fice) and<br />

dropping it <strong>of</strong>f in the "Robin Hood" box right by the order<br />

forms. Please make sure you include your name, the date <strong>of</strong><br />

performance you want, and the number <strong>of</strong> adult / student<br />

tickets you want. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for<br />

students under 16. Checks should be made out to: “Terman<br />

Middle School," with "Robin Hood play tickets" in the<br />

memo. Tickets may also be purchased at the door - if it is<br />

not sold out!<br />

Make it a night <strong>of</strong> baseball fun with mom and dad at Kepler's and welcome acclaimed sportswriter Mike Lupica. For over 30 years<br />

he has been working in the field <strong>of</strong> sports journalism and has achieved much praise for his experience and insider's knowledge <strong>of</strong><br />

the sporting world. Recently, his novels for children and young adults have earned him even more admiration, as kids the world over<br />

are discovering the joy <strong>of</strong> reading through his books. It will be just like a night at the ball park with popcorn and root beer for all.<br />

Come early to watch a classic baseball game on the big screen.

season on Sunday, March 2 at 3pm, at<br />

Dinkelspiel Auditorium on the<br />

Stanford University campus. Program<br />

featuring music from Great Britain,<br />

and popular local violin virtuoso<br />

Robin Sharp. George Frederic Handel<br />

was born in Germany but found fame<br />

and fortune in 18th century London;<br />

the program will begin with one <strong>of</strong><br />

his delightful Concerto Grossi.<br />

Vaughan-Williams’ seldom heard<br />

Concerto Accademico for Violin and<br />

String Orchestra will be performed<br />

by Ms. Sharp. The program will<br />

conclude with Edward Elgar's<br />

beloved Serenade for String<br />

feature selected movements from<br />
