10.00 Staffing <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Adoption</strong> <strong>Service</strong><br />

The <strong>Adoption</strong> <strong>Service</strong> consists <strong>of</strong> the following staff:<br />

Responsible Manager who is the overall Manager <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Adoption</strong> <strong>Service</strong>.<br />

Recruitment Team (who also cover Fostering Recruitment) consisting <strong>of</strong> a<br />

1 x p/t Publicity/Assistant Communications Officer (access to)<br />

1 x P/t Social Work post<br />

1 Senior Practitioner (p/t)<br />

<strong>Adoption</strong> Support Team<br />

1 0.5 Team Manager<br />

1 0.4 Senior Practitioner<br />

1 x p/t Social Worker post<br />

1 x p/t (10 hrs) – Birth Records Counselling<br />

<strong>Adoption</strong> Admin Support section<br />

1 x <strong>Adoption</strong> Panel Administrator Access to but part <strong>of</strong> joint hub with the<br />

3 x f/t Clerical Officers Fostering <strong>Service</strong><br />

2 x p/t (18.5 hrs) Clerical Officers<br />

One Team Manager acts as Pr<strong>of</strong>essional Adviser to the <strong>Adoption</strong> Panel when the Manager <strong>of</strong> the<br />

<strong>Adoption</strong> <strong>Service</strong> is unable to.<br />

11.00 Monitoring Arrangements to ensure effectiveness <strong>and</strong> quality<br />

• Arrangements are in place to ensure that the service provided by the <strong>Adoption</strong> <strong>Service</strong> is<br />

effective <strong>and</strong> that the quality <strong>of</strong> the service is <strong>of</strong> an appropriate st<strong>and</strong>ard.<br />

• The <strong>Statement</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Purpose</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Annual</strong> <strong>Report</strong> are considered by the Cabinet Member for<br />

Social Care each year <strong>and</strong> subject to Cabinet Scrutiny process.<br />

• A summary <strong>of</strong> progress against adoption targets is contained within the quarterly report <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Directorate <strong>and</strong> considered by Cabinet each quarter.<br />

• Managers provide monthly performance information in respect <strong>of</strong> their team.<br />

• <strong>Adoption</strong> <strong>Service</strong> targets are reported on within the Quality Improvement Framework for the<br />

Directorate.<br />
