<strong>BRYAN</strong> <strong>FOGEL</strong>-- <strong>Director</strong>/<strong>Writer</strong>/<strong>Producer</strong><br />

<strong>Born</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>Denver</strong>, <strong>Colorado</strong>, Bryan dreamed of be<strong>in</strong>g a professional bicycle racer and one day<br />

rac<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> the Tour De France long before his foray <strong>in</strong>to the enterta<strong>in</strong>ment biz. Rac<strong>in</strong>g from the<br />

time he was 13, it didn’t dawn on him until the age of 20 that while <strong>in</strong> his heart he wanted to be<br />

like Lance, his genetics from years and years of asthmatic Eastern European Jews didn’t have<br />

that <strong>in</strong> the cards for him.<br />

Mov<strong>in</strong>g to Los Angeles after graduat<strong>in</strong>g from the University of <strong>Colorado</strong>, Boulder, Bryan<br />

attempted to break <strong>in</strong>to the world of stand-up comedy and act<strong>in</strong>g. After meet<strong>in</strong>g Sam Wolfson<br />

through a mutual friend who was also do<strong>in</strong>g stand-up, the two decided to write and perform a<br />

ten m<strong>in</strong>ute scene for a one act theater festival. The scene over the next few years would morph<br />

<strong>in</strong>to “Jewtopia” the stage play <strong>in</strong> which Bryan also starred. “Jewtopia” went on to become one of<br />

the longest runn<strong>in</strong>g and most successful shows <strong>in</strong> Los Angeles and off-Broadway history.<br />

Productions have been mounted all over the US and Canada, and to date, “Jewtopia” has been<br />

seen by over one million people.<br />

Bryan also co-authored the best sell<strong>in</strong>g coffee-table book Jewtopia: The Chosen Book for the<br />

Chosen People published by Hachette, as well as the national travel<strong>in</strong>g show, “Jewtopia: Live!”,<br />

which has played to sold out audiences <strong>in</strong> major perform<strong>in</strong>g arts venues all over the US and<br />

Canada. Bryan has also written and sold an animated pilot, another screenplay, which he<br />

hopes to br<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>to production, and is work<strong>in</strong>g on a bunch of new projects he is <strong>in</strong> various stages<br />

of develop<strong>in</strong>g.<br />

JEWTOPIA is Bryan’s feature film directorial debut. He still considers be<strong>in</strong>g a pro bicycle racer<br />

as his back-up plan.<br />

SAM WOLFSON – <strong>Writer</strong><br />

Sam Wolfson is the co-creator of JEWTOPIA and couldn't be happier to have the film premiere<br />

at the Newport Beach Film Festival. Sam has segued <strong>in</strong>to TV over the last few years, writ<strong>in</strong>g<br />

pilots for NBC, CBS, Disney and TBS. He usually spends his free time expla<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g to his mother<br />

what a TV pilot is, and why the ones he writes never get on television.<br />

COURTNEY MIZEL – <strong>Producer</strong><br />

Courtney Mizel mixes her passion for the arts with bus<strong>in</strong>ess acumen garnered over decades of<br />

experience <strong>in</strong> the entrepreneurial, consult<strong>in</strong>g, sales, market<strong>in</strong>g and enterta<strong>in</strong>ment <strong>in</strong>dustries.<br />

S<strong>in</strong>ce attend<strong>in</strong>g the Peter Stark Produc<strong>in</strong>g Program at the University of Southern California,<br />

Mizel has produced theatrical works and a host of short and feature length films. Most recently,<br />

Mizel produced the L.A. stage production and film adaptation of Jewtopia, a comedy starr<strong>in</strong>g<br />

Jennifer Love Hewitt, Rita Wilson, Tom Arnold and Jon Lovitz that was released <strong>in</strong> the summer<br />

of 2011. Her other works <strong>in</strong>clude Tortilla Heaven, a 2008 feature length film starr<strong>in</strong>g George<br />

Lopez , Miguel Sandoval, Lupe Ontiveras, Jose Zuniga and Ana Ortiz.. Courtney is also a<br />

voiceover artist, lend<strong>in</strong>g her voice to several <strong>in</strong>teractive, museum and film narratives.<br />

Mizel has worked as a startup bus<strong>in</strong>ess consultant at a small firm <strong>in</strong> Los Angeles and founded<br />

All Fired Up, a pa<strong>in</strong>t-your-own ceramic shop <strong>in</strong> <strong>Denver</strong>, which she ran for two years. Mizel also<br />

served as the Vice President of Sales and Market<strong>in</strong>g for Flyers Worldwide, a market<strong>in</strong>g and ad<br />

specialties firm focus<strong>in</strong>g on the enterta<strong>in</strong>ment and YaYa, LLC, focus<strong>in</strong>g on video game onl<strong>in</strong>e<br />

advertis<strong>in</strong>g. She is also the Found<strong>in</strong>g <strong>Director</strong> and Chairman of the Counterterrorism Education<br />

Learn<strong>in</strong>g Lab, a <strong>Denver</strong>-based museum and education center focused on empower<strong>in</strong>g<br />

communities with the knowledge and tools to combat terrorism. S<strong>in</strong>ce launch<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> 2004, the<br />

CELL has become a lead<strong>in</strong>g organization <strong>in</strong> the discussion of global counterterrorism and<br />

egularly fosters dialogue among prom<strong>in</strong>ent experts and security leaders from around the world.<br />

A survivor of stage IIB breast cancer, Courtney is an advocate of breast cancer awareness,<br />

treatment and support. She serves as a peer supporter <strong>in</strong> the Los Angeles community as well<br />

as nationally. Along with her large network of lov<strong>in</strong>g family and friends, Mizel’s non-profit efforts<br />

<strong>in</strong> the field of breast cancer research and awareness have raised significant funds for the<br />

Cancer League of <strong>Colorado</strong> with the “Over the Edge” campaign, a fundraiser that collects team<br />

donations <strong>in</strong> exchange for the opportunity to rappel from a 32-story build<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> downtown<br />

<strong>Denver</strong>.<br />

Courtney is a member of the Milken Institute Young Leaders Circle and has dedicated years of<br />

service <strong>in</strong> leadership positions with AIPAC, The Jewish Funders Network and the Jewish<br />

Federation, where she served two terms as co-chair of the Ben Gurion Society, as well as six<br />

years on the National Young Leadership Cab<strong>in</strong>et.<br />

<strong>Born</strong> and raised <strong>in</strong> <strong>Denver</strong>, <strong>Colorado</strong>, Mizel moved to Philadelphia after high school where she<br />

graduated cum laude from the Wharton School of Bus<strong>in</strong>ess at the University of Pennsylvania<br />

and spent a year at the University of the Arts <strong>in</strong> their Musical Theater program. She holds a<br />

doctorate of jurisprudence from the Gould School of Law at the University of Southern California<br />

and is a member of the California State Bar. In her free time, she enjoys travel, read<strong>in</strong>g and<br />

fitness, and currently resides <strong>in</strong> Los Angeles with her two beautiful girls, Zoe Faith, age 6 and<br />

Isabella Grace, age 5 both of whom make their film debut <strong>in</strong> Jewtopia.<br />

PAVLINA HATOUPIS – <strong>Producer</strong><br />

Pavl<strong>in</strong>a Hatoupis is quickly mak<strong>in</strong>g a name for herself <strong>in</strong> the <strong>in</strong>die world as a <strong>Producer</strong> to watch.<br />

Her recent credits <strong>in</strong>clude KABOOM (Cannes/Sundance 2011), LITTLE BIRDS (Sundance<br />

2011), FLY AWAY (SXSW 2011), PERFECTION, NEW GUY, FRANKIE GO BOOM (SXSW<br />

2011), SASSY PANTS (SBIFF & MIFF 2012) and JEWTOPIA (Newport Beach Film Festival<br />

2012.) Most recently she executive produced MANIAC starr<strong>in</strong>g Elijah Wood.<br />

ANDY FICKMAN – <strong>Producer</strong><br />

Andy Fickman is an award-w<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g director, writer, and producer. Daily VARIETY named<br />

Fickman one of the “DIRECTORS TO WATCH.” FADE-IN MAGAZINE referred to Fickman as a<br />

“Renaissance Man,” and listed him as one of the “100 PEOPLE IN HOLLYWOOD YOU NEED<br />

TO KNOW.” Andy’s latest project is the 20 th Century Fox/Walden Media comedy Parental<br />

Guidance. Parental Guidance has an all star and award w<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g cast <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g Billy Crystal,<br />

Bette Midler, Marisa Tomei, Bailee Madison and Tom Everett Scott. The film is set to be<br />

released December 25, 2012.<br />

Fickman is produc<strong>in</strong>g the romantic comedy Jewtopia, a feature adaptation of the off-Broadway<br />

hit play, which he also directed, and best-sell<strong>in</strong>g book. Playwright Bryan Fogel is direct<strong>in</strong>g from<br />

a script he co-wrote with Sam Wolfson. The film stars Jennifer Love Hewitt, Rita Wilson, Jon<br />

Lovitz, Tom Arnold, Camryn Manheim, Peter Stormare, Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Ivan Sergei and<br />

is set to have its world premiere at the Newport Beach Film Festival on April 26, 2012.<br />

In addition, Oops Doughnuts Productions is the newly formed venture from Andy Fickman with<br />

his produc<strong>in</strong>g partner Betsy Sullenger.<br />

Andy will direct and exec produce The Disney Channel series Bits & Pieces, along with Betsy<br />

Sullenger. Production will beg<strong>in</strong> <strong>in</strong> June on Bits, which features a blended family of four kids<br />

follow<strong>in</strong>g the marriage of a high school’s basketball coach and school psychologist. He is also<br />

work<strong>in</strong>g on a Disney Channel TV movie Drummed Out.<br />

Oops Doughnuts Productions has also recently teamed up with YOMYOMF Network and Bobby<br />

Smith’s Ashore Enterta<strong>in</strong>ment <strong>in</strong> search of the next Internet Icon where contestants will compete<br />

<strong>in</strong> a series of challenges designed to highlight their creativity and filmmak<strong>in</strong>g skills <strong>in</strong> an effort to<br />

become the next big <strong>in</strong>ternet star. CAPE Gala Honoree and YouTube sensation Ryan Higa will<br />

judge alongside Christ<strong>in</strong>e Lak<strong>in</strong> and the show will be hosted by YTF member Chester See.<br />

Production beg<strong>in</strong>s late April and the show will air <strong>in</strong> mid-May with the audience vot<strong>in</strong>g on a<br />

w<strong>in</strong>ner prior to a f<strong>in</strong>ale <strong>in</strong> July. Andy is also serv<strong>in</strong>g as Executive <strong>Producer</strong> on the new Web<br />

Series, Lov<strong>in</strong>’ Lak<strong>in</strong> starr<strong>in</strong>g Christ<strong>in</strong>e Lak<strong>in</strong>, which will premiere on Hulu and youtube. The<br />

series runs 9 episodes which are each 4-5 m<strong>in</strong>utes and is set to premiere <strong>in</strong> June. He is also set<br />

to produce Paramount’s Boy Scout Vs. Zombies, which centers on a troop that must save a<br />

group of girl scouts from a pack of zombies with designs on spoil<strong>in</strong>g a camp<strong>in</strong>g trip.<br />

Andy is currently <strong>in</strong> negotiations to direct The Wright Girls, a dark comedy-thriller from Relativity<br />

and Atlas Enterta<strong>in</strong>ment. Inspired by the Japanese movie 2LDK, the story revolves around two<br />

young actresses who live together, pretend to be best friends and are co-stars on a successful<br />

television show. In reality, they despise one another and go to extreme and violent measures to<br />

do one another <strong>in</strong> when they end up compet<strong>in</strong>g for the same movie role. Andy was recently<br />

slated to direct Walden Media’s Best Christmas Pageant Ever, based on the popular book of the<br />

same name. The story centers on a suburban slacker mom who gets roped <strong>in</strong>to direct<strong>in</strong>g her<br />

town’s Christmas pageant and gets stuck with the ‘worst kids <strong>in</strong> the history of the world’ as her<br />

cast.” He will also be produc<strong>in</strong>g classic RKO films, Bedlam, Five Came Back, The Plantation,<br />

and direct<strong>in</strong>g Body Snatchers.<br />

Andy’s other television develop<strong>in</strong>g credits <strong>in</strong>clude Lifetime’s Nashville Pride and Showtime’s<br />

Death Pact.<br />

Andy’s past film direct<strong>in</strong>g credits <strong>in</strong>clude She’s The Man, which won a Teen Choice Award for<br />

Best Comedy <strong>in</strong> 2006, Who’s Your Daddy? as well the critically acclaimed and award w<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g<br />

musical Reefer Madness and the Emmy Award-w<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g film version for Showtime.<br />

Fickman’s last trip to the big screen was with Touchstone’s romantic comedy You Aga<strong>in</strong> starr<strong>in</strong>g<br />

Kristen Bell, Jamie Lee Curtis, Sigourney Weaver, and Betty White. This was Andy’s third<br />

out<strong>in</strong>g with Disney follow<strong>in</strong>g his two major hits Race To Witch Mounta<strong>in</strong> and The Game Plan.<br />

Andy’s other success’ on the stage <strong>in</strong>clude Jewtopia, Sneaux!, Les Girls 4 , We The People,<br />

and The Marrieds. Andy and Kev<strong>in</strong> Murphy are develop<strong>in</strong>g for the stage musical versions of<br />

Heathers The Musical and Dennis The Menace The Musical.<br />

Andy was co-founder and manag<strong>in</strong>g director of the critically acclaimed Founta<strong>in</strong>head Theatre<br />

Company and was directly <strong>in</strong>volved with their productions Pretty Fire, Culture Clash , and Big<br />

Al.<br />

TUCKER TOOLEY – <strong>Producer</strong><br />

Tucker Tooley serves as President, Relativity Media oversee<strong>in</strong>g the company’s day-to-day<br />

operations, its bus<strong>in</strong>ess divisions, personnel and all matters relat<strong>in</strong>g to Relativity’s theatrical<br />

motion picture film slate.<br />

Tooley jo<strong>in</strong>ed Relativity <strong>in</strong> 2007 as President, Worldwide Production and was <strong>in</strong>tegral <strong>in</strong><br />

transition<strong>in</strong>g the company’s S<strong>in</strong>gle Picture Films division <strong>in</strong>to a full-fledged studio which<br />

develops, f<strong>in</strong>ances, produces, distributes, markets and acquires feature films. In his role as<br />

President, Tooley oversees all of Relativity’s company divisions which <strong>in</strong>cludes: Film, RogueLife<br />

(Relativity’s digital content studio), Relativity Music Group, Rogue Sports, TV Sales & Digital<br />

Distribution and Home Enterta<strong>in</strong>ment. Tooley also oversees market<strong>in</strong>g, theatrical distribution<br />

and all <strong>in</strong>ternational bus<strong>in</strong>ess operations that comprise Relativity’s network of foreign output<br />

partners, as he manages 18 overall deals with <strong>in</strong>ternational distributors around the world.<br />

Tooley ma<strong>in</strong>ta<strong>in</strong>s oversight of Relativity’s partnership with Sir Richard Branson’s film and<br />

While at Relativity, Tooley spearheaded the acquisition of the Bandito Brothers’ Navy SEAL<br />

action-thriller Act of Valor which opened to No. 1 <strong>in</strong> its box office debut and has gone on to<br />

gross $70 million worldwide. He has executive produced and overseen two additional No. 1<br />

openers <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g the 3D epic adventure Immortals starr<strong>in</strong>g Henry Cavill, Oscar®-nom<strong>in</strong>ated<br />

Oscar®-w<strong>in</strong>ner Julia Roberts, the dynamic action-thriller Haywire from Oscar®-w<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g director<br />

Steven Soderbergh and the comedy from the writers of The Hangover, 21 and Over. He is<br />

currently oversee<strong>in</strong>g production on the dramatic thriller currently titled Out of the Furnace from<br />

the critically-acclaimed director Scott Cooper and is <strong>in</strong> pre-production on the film adaptation of<br />

Nicholas Sparks’ best-sell<strong>in</strong>g novel Safe Haven as well as the re<strong>in</strong>vention of the cult classic The<br />

Crow.<br />

Dur<strong>in</strong>g Tooley’s time at Relativity, its S<strong>in</strong>gle Picture Films division has earned recognition with a<br />

multitude of Oscar® and Golden Globe® nom<strong>in</strong>ations for such films as: The Fighter, Brothers,<br />

and N<strong>in</strong>e. In 2009, Tooley was also honored by the Ischia Global Film Festival as Executive of<br />

the Year.<br />

Prior to jo<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g Relativity, Tooley served as CEO of Tooley Productions where he <strong>in</strong>dependently<br />

produced television shows and feature films <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g Shadowboxer, starr<strong>in</strong>g Oscar®- w<strong>in</strong>ner<br />

Helen Mirren and Oscar-nom<strong>in</strong>ated director Lee Daniels (Precious), as well as the criticallyacclaimed<br />

Felon, directed by Ric Roman Waugh.<br />

In 1999, Tooley established the production company, Newman/Tooley Films, with then<br />

produc<strong>in</strong>g partner V<strong>in</strong>cent Newman. Over the next seven years, the duo produced a successful<br />

slate of both <strong>in</strong>dependent and studio movies, work<strong>in</strong>g with the top talent <strong>in</strong> Hollywood.<br />

Described by “Fade In” magaz<strong>in</strong>e <strong>in</strong> their top 100 people of Hollywood Issue as the “rarest of<br />

comb<strong>in</strong>ations,” Tooley was able to consistently produce commercial films, package A-list talent<br />

and deliver films on budget and on schedule.<br />

Tooley began his produc<strong>in</strong>g career as a creative executive at Interlight Pictures. He received his<br />

B.A. from the University of California Santa Barbara.<br />
