<strong>Welcome</strong> <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Eldora</strong> <strong>Women's</strong> <strong>Program</strong>!<br />

Session I (6 week) Tuesdays (Jan 8 th – Feb 12 th , 2013)<br />

Wednesdays (Jan 9 th – Feb 13 th , 2013)<br />

Session II (4 week) Tuesdays (Feb 19 th – March 12 th , 2013)<br />

Wednesdays (Feb 20 th – March 13 th , 2013)<br />

FIRST DAY!<br />

Downhill, snowboard and telemark participants will meet <strong>the</strong>ir instruc<strong>to</strong>rs on-snow, dressed, ready <strong>to</strong> ski or ride directly<br />

behind <strong>the</strong> Indian Peaks Lodge. Classic and skate cross-country skiing participants will meet at <strong>the</strong> Nordic Center. Please<br />

meet your instruc<strong>to</strong>r at <strong>the</strong> colored flag that corresponds with your ability level promptly at 9:15 am. After meeting your<br />

instruc<strong>to</strong>r you will proceed <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> appropriate terrain <strong>to</strong> assess your ability and start having fun.<br />

WOMEN’S PROGRAM PASS PICKUP<br />

If you do not have a Season Pass, you will need <strong>to</strong> have your picture taken and pick up a program pass before your<br />

session begins at:<br />

Please Note: Your Women’s pass is good 7 days a week as follows:<br />

Session I Pass – from January 8 th thru February 15 th , 2013<br />

Session II Pass – from February 19 th thru March 15 th , 2013<br />

Session I & II – If you have registered for both Sessions I and II before January 8 th , 2013 you will receive a full<br />

season pass that is good for <strong>the</strong> entire 2012-2013 season<br />

CHANGES<br />

Sometimes it is necessary <strong>to</strong> make changes <strong>to</strong> your program registration. We would like <strong>to</strong> keep <strong>the</strong>se <strong>to</strong> a minimum.<br />

Therefore, we have a firm policy for registration changes. One change per participant is allowed. Additional registration<br />

changes will be subject <strong>to</strong> a $40 administrative fee. To make a change, please contact us via:<br />

SPECIAL REQUESTS<br />

If you would like <strong>to</strong> be in <strong>the</strong> same class as a friend, we will do our best <strong>to</strong> accommodate this request. We do have <strong>to</strong><br />

consider each participant's ability and skill level first. Please be aware that you will be placed at <strong>the</strong> lower ability level of<br />

<strong>the</strong> two of you. This request or any o<strong>the</strong>r special information should be noted on your registration form. Please call 303-<br />

440-8700 ext.271 (starting November 3rd, 2012) or email programs@eldora.com if you would like <strong>to</strong> add information <strong>to</strong><br />

your registration form.<br />

RENTALS<br />

If you are renting equipment from <strong>Eldora</strong>, please allow extra time <strong>to</strong> pickup your rental equipment. On <strong>the</strong> first day of <strong>the</strong><br />

session, we recommend that you pick up your rentals between 8:30am and 9:00am <strong>to</strong> allow enough time <strong>to</strong> be with your<br />

group for <strong>the</strong> 9:15am meeting time.


X-Country (classic & skate) are available at <strong>the</strong> Nordic Center<br />

Downhill, telemark and snowboard rentals are available at <strong>the</strong> Rental shop located on <strong>the</strong> 1 st floor of <strong>the</strong> Indian<br />

Peaks Lodge<br />

FIRST DAY SCHEDULE<br />

Sessions I & II<br />

8:30 - 9:15 am Continental Breakfast, Upstairs Indian Peaks Lodge<br />

8:30 - 9:00 am Rental Equipment Pickup<br />

9:15 am Meet Instruc<strong>to</strong>r Behind Indian Peaks Lodge or at <strong>the</strong> Nordic Center<br />

9:30 -11:30 am Ability Level Assessment (see below) and Morning Lesson Session<br />

11:30 am -12:30 pm Lunch – Upstairs Indian Peaks Lodge<br />

12:30 - 2:30 pm Afternoon Lesson Session<br />

The remaining days of your session will begin with breakfast served from 8:30 am until 9:15 am.<br />

Your lesson will begin promptly at 9:30 am.<br />

ABILITY LEVEL ASSESSMENT<br />

1 st Day of each Session<br />

You were asked your ability level (color) when you when you registered for <strong>the</strong> program. Please meet at <strong>the</strong><br />

corresponding colored flag promptly at 9:15 am. Flag locations are listed below according <strong>to</strong> your discipline. Have all of<br />

your equipment with you, including your pass. Be dressed, ready <strong>to</strong> ski or ride. Please be sure you have chosen <strong>the</strong> level<br />

that describes your skiing or riding abilities AT THIS TIME, not what you would like <strong>to</strong> work <strong>to</strong>wards. From <strong>the</strong> flag, <strong>the</strong><br />

instruc<strong>to</strong>r will verbally assess <strong>the</strong> group and <strong>the</strong>n proceed <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> terrain that best suits <strong>the</strong> group for an on snow<br />

assessment.<br />

Flag Locations<br />

Alpine (Telemark Skiing, Downhill Skiing, & Snowboard)<br />

o Meet outside, behind <strong>the</strong> Indian Peaks Lodge at <strong>the</strong> appropriate colored flag by 9:15 am<br />

Nordic (X-Country Classic & X-Country Skate)<br />

o Meet at 9:15 am at <strong>the</strong> Nordic Center (located at <strong>the</strong> sou<strong>the</strong>ast corner of <strong>the</strong> lower parking lot)<br />

Special Notes<br />

Instruc<strong>to</strong>rs will do <strong>the</strong>ir best <strong>to</strong> group classes according <strong>to</strong> skill level, common goals, and confidence levels<br />

This is a group lesson. Instruc<strong>to</strong>rs will do <strong>the</strong>ir best <strong>to</strong> give individual feedback, but sometimes feedback may be<br />

directed <strong>to</strong> benefit <strong>the</strong> entire group<br />

We operate a skill based learning environment. As your skills progress, your group will progress <strong>to</strong> more<br />

challenging terrain<br />

*PLEASE NOTE*<br />

There are no make-up days in <strong>the</strong> Women’s program. We cannot switch days if you are unable <strong>to</strong> make your<br />

designated day. We do not want <strong>to</strong> disrupt <strong>the</strong> group dynamics by adding a new student <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> group<br />

<strong>Eldora</strong> does not cancel classes for winter wea<strong>the</strong>r conditions, winter driving conditions or traffic. Skiing is a<br />

winter sport which can involve wind, snow, and below freezing temperatures. Please dress appropriately and<br />

allow yourself a sufficient amount of time <strong>to</strong> drive <strong>to</strong> <strong>Eldora</strong><br />
