New EUTR <strong>Timber</strong> Regulation<br />
A new EU regulation comes into force in March 2013 which will<br />
apply to all those involved in the UK timber trade, but particularly<br />
those involved in placing timber and timber products into the EU<br />
market for the first time.<br />
Known as the EUTR (European Union <strong>Timber</strong> Regulation) it aims<br />
to make it harder for timber sourced illegally to find its way into<br />
and be traded within the EU.<br />
<strong>Timbmet</strong> is well placed to meet the requirements of the due<br />
diligence system, having already operated in this way for over<br />
4 years. Customers can continue to buy their products from<br />
<strong>Timbmet</strong> in confidence that they are in full compliance with the<br />
new regulation.
