Congratulations to the New York City Association of Hotel Concierges on
sponsoring the third annual Concierge Choice Awards. This unique event
brings together the hospitality industry professionals with the concierge
community to recognize the many people who achieve excellence in guest
experiences.
As the publishers of City Guide magazine and Promenade magazine, we are
honored and proud to be able to host the dinner and prepare this journal.
This book is designed to be a resource for concierges to remind them of
the nominees and winners of the Concierge Choice Awards. The directory
in the back of this journal provides them with hospitality industry contact
names to make booking easier. We will also highlight the nominees and
winners on our websites www.cityguideny.com and www.nyluxury.com.
We want to thank NYCAHC for creating this recognition program and we
are also pleased that this event supports Les Clefs d’Or Foundation and
the NYCAHC Charitable Fund.
Congratulations to the 2009 nominees and winners.
More than a mere coffee shop—more of an ice cream
parlor on steroids—Serendipity is synonymous with
fun. Since 1954, its menu of outrageous desserts—
including their signature frozen hot chocolate—and fun
food, served in a Manhattan townhouse amid exuberant
Victorian decorations, has charmed children and their
parents, not to mention celebrities from Andy Warhol to
Beyoncé.
One of the rare restaurants with a four-star rating
from The New York Times, Daniel marries the warmth
and accessibility of a neighborhood restaurant with a
contemporary French menu inspired by the seasons and
the market. Recently re-opened following a complete
redecoration, the restaurant’s striking neoclassical
architecture has been artfully refreshed with the addition
of contemporary furnishings and finishes.
A mainstay for Theatre District Italian food since opening
in 2004, La Masseria was honored by Esquire as one
of “America’s Best New Restaurants.” Since then they
have cultivated quite a captive audience and reservations
can be a little bit tricky but they hold certain tables until
mid-afternoon for concierge reservations. So, if a guest is
craving a pre-theatre Italian feast, this is the place! (Just
be sure to call ahead.)
celebrated public museum, you’ll find one of the world’s
greatest fine and decorative arts collections, with
masterpieces ranging from the Renaissance through the
19th century. Established by steel industrialist Henry
Clay Frick, and maintaining the atmosphere of the house
of a private collector, this cultural treasure features
Bellini, Constable, Fragonard, Gainsborough, Goya,
El Greco, Manet, Monet, Rembrandt, Titian, Velazquez,
Vermeer, Whistler, and many other artists.
