National Detector Dog Training Center<br />
Location: Orl<strong>and</strong>o, Florida<br />
Location in April 2009: Newnan, Georgia<br />
The National Detector Dog Training Center (NDDTC) is responsible for designing,<br />
developing, <strong>and</strong> delivering training courses in the field <strong>of</strong> agriculture<br />
canine scent detection. The center also recruits <strong>and</strong> trains all canines that are<br />
assigned to students. Personnel serve as subject matter experts in the field <strong>of</strong><br />
canine agriculture scent detection <strong>and</strong> provide program development support<br />
for Federal Government agencies as well as State <strong>and</strong> foreign governments.<br />
The NDDTC’s areas <strong>of</strong> responsibility include:<br />
• Organizational, job, task, <strong>and</strong> training needs analyses;<br />
• Instructional design, development, delivery, <strong>and</strong> evaluation;<br />
• Procurement <strong>and</strong> training <strong>of</strong> canines; <strong>and</strong><br />
•<br />
Certification <strong>of</strong> agriculture canine teams.<br />
