RONCO trains handler and dog teams, starting with basic searchproblems through more challenging scenarios.DETECTOR DOG TEAM TRAININGRONCO Consulting Corporation trains anddeploys detection dog teams, manages canineprograms and operates canine training centersaround the world. RONCO has a comprehensivefacility in Dilley, Texas offering detection dogtraining. There, we pair handlers with dogs andtrain the team how to search and clear buildings,vehicles, areas, and packages andluggage. RONCO also trains thehandler how to provide daily andemergency care for their assignedcanine and arranges for a clientapproved,internationally acceptedcertification for the dog team uponcompletion of the training course.RONCO-trainees decrease response time to incidents and increase public confidencein safety and good government.TRAINING FOR IRAQI GENERAL COUNTEREXPLOSIVES DIRECTORATE POLICE FORCEIn 2009, RONCO led a training course for theDepartment of Defense designed to developIEDD capacity within the Iraqi MOI GeneralCounter Explosives Directorate Police force.Multi-National Security Transition Command-Iraq outlined the parameters of the courseand funded its implementation. RONCOestablished IEDD classroom and training spaceat Old Muthanna Air Field Federal Police EODBattalion compound and, guided by International Mine Action Standards, conducted acourse encompassing basic UXO demolition, equipment, and IEDD principles. RONCOenrolled and trained police officers through onsite classes and mobile training teams,established a facility sufficient for classroom and practical training, and provided lifesupport for General Counter Explosives Directorate students and school staff. The coursealso called for equipping the General Counter Explosives Directorate provincial directoratesas well as training them. RONCO procured, imported and distributed full sets of equipmentthroughout Iraq. Throughout the process, RONCO provided interpreters and translationservices to facilitate classroom presentation and provided translated instructional materials.
