All militarypersonnel who are either on active duty,retired or served in any war to support anddefend our country are honored duringthis time period. Trees are set up in eachlibrary and are decorated with white lightsand yellow ribbons. The white lightssymbolize those who were unable to returnhome to their families and the yellowribbons symbolize our wish that all servingmilitary return home safely. All personnelon each base are invited to add loved onesphotos to the tree. Children from the CDCsdecorate pictures <strong>of</strong> their hero and adornthe trees before Veterans’ Day. Please senda picture <strong>of</strong> your child’s hero to the CDCswhen requested. The pictures are returnedin late November so they may be added tothe family Christmas tree.Letters to Santa29 NovemberMilitary - children are encouraged to writea letter to Santa and deliver it to eitherthe MCRD Parris Island or MCAS Beaufortlibraries. Parents are encouraged to includea return address on the envelope as Santamight have time to answer their letter.Visit from Santa18 December | 0900MCRD Parris Island Library19 December | 0930MCAS Beaufort LibraryPlease bring your children to the MCRDParris Island Library on Wednesday orthe MCAS Beaufort Library on Thursdaymorning to see Santa. Picture opportunitiesabound!Hero TreeChildren may begin picking up their heroornaments on 20 November. The tree willbe taken down on 23 November.6
