EMKAT isnow completing its second such plant in India.


The Tajik Case-Olympia In 2009 EMKAT participated along with Khudjad InvestmentCotton in a Greek-Tajik JV named “OLYMPIA” setting as a goalto produce high quality seed. A state of the art plant had been completed in December 2010. Capability to process cotton, wheat and corn seed. Pilot production started in January 2011 with local cotton varietyNemat. The JV has decided to process seeds of reproduction 1 &reproduction 2.- Seed NecessityFor this purpose an area of 700 hectares field had been used incollaboration with the Farmers Association Rahmon Nabiev


Field Olympia Status25kg/hectare of seed used for planting. The rest could be used forcotton oil and animal feed production.Adequate planting using pneumatic planting machines minimizingfarmers expensesSeed growing within a period of 4-5 days.No preliminary watering used achieving a 2 time reduction inirrigation water, a very significant achievement under Tajikistan’sconditions.Fertilizer used of 330kg/hectare.Cotton Yield in first gathering 4.3tns/hectare and in secondgathering 5.1tns/hectare.
