Athinahunts are all fully hosted, offering an enjoyablesocial experience in addition to the excellentsport in the field.This packageoffers wingshooterstheopportunity toshoot a widevariety of Africangame birds andwaterfowlthroughout theirtrip, as well as the chance to experience thefantastic pigeon and dove shooting availablelocally. The package is flexible enough to allowthe hunter, if they wish, to incorporate someplains game hunting too.Hunting takes place on avariety of farms andproperties, over themaize, sunflower andsorghum crops that arethe home and foodsource for the wild gamebirds – our quarryincludes the HelmetedGuinea Fowl andFrancolin. These farms also include anumber of small dams that we incorporateinto the drives, so the bag can also includeseveral species of duck and geese, includingYellow-billed Duck and Whistling Duck.The birds areusually drivenover the gunsby teams ofbeaters anddogs – ahundred or soHelmetedGuinea Fowlbursting over your head is a heart stoppingexperience for any shooter - although wealso walk-up field margins and uncultivatedareas with pointers, as the Francolin inparticular like these undisturbed grassyareas. Most afternoons we set up for thepigeon and dove flights to and from theirfood sources, as this can provide someexciting and challenging sport.We are able to offer some really goodwildfowling as part of the same package,according to the clients’ wishes. Whilst thisinvolvestravellingbetween ¾and 2 hours tospecificproperties, wecan highlyrecommendincluding thisas is gives thechance to tackle the mighty Spur-WingGoose and the fast flying Egyptian Goose,as well as a number of duck species such asTeal and Pochard.1

Your adventure will be led by ourProfessional Hunter of twenty-five years’experience, who will guide you on a dailybasis in the shooting field. Teams on thesehunting packages will be accompanied by abird shooting specialist from Athina toensure that all of your needs are met.Accommodation will be in comfortablechalets with double occupancy. Hunters willbe fully catered for, including all food anddrink, as well as airport transfers andinternal transfers. All aspects of the shootingactivity and hospitality are included in theprice, with no extras for game shot,transport, food or drinks. The only things youneed to pay for on location are yourcartridges and tips to staff.The majority of shooting, other than theaforementioned wildfowling, is carried outwithin a short distance of ouraccommodation in order to maximisehunting time.
