R–RealA–AdventuresI–InL–LearningRail Summer ProgramAltoona R.A.I.L. (Real Adventures in Learning) is offeredby the Altoona Parks & Recreation Department and theSchool District of Altoona for the children of Altoona.Children that are within the Altoona School District’slimits are eligible to participate in the R.A.I.L program.The R.A.I.L. Summer Program will run in two, three weeksessions, Session 1: June 12-29; Session 2: July 9 - 27,Monday through Friday, and will start each morning at8:30 a.m. and run until 1:00 p.m. with a half hour lunchbreak. Children will be required to bring a sack luncheach day. Children will have the opportunity to choosefrom a variety of different programs to participate in eachsession. Each child will be able to attend four differentprograms each day or sign up for classes individually. Thecost to Altoona School District students will be a $20.00per session material fee or $5.00 per class material fee.The registration form (located on page 16) and fees areto be turned into the Altoona Parks & Recreation Officewhich is located at 1904 Spooner Ave, Altoona, by thedeadline date of June 8, 2012. We accept cash or checks,checks should be written out to the School District ofAltoona. We reserve the right to change course offerings,teachers, or cancel the program based on enrollment.Grade is based on the upcoming school year. Please do notrequest to have your child put into a program he/she doesnot meet the age requirements.
