TheWork Experience Cluster and some Core Cluster students had a chance to play in the first seriesof games held on Feb. 15th and l6th. The rest of the Core Cluster and Lower Cluster studentsplayed in a series of games held on Feb. 28th and 29th. Everyone had a great timeimproving their skills. The games also helped the students practice good sportsmanship andteamwork. The freeexhibition celebrates National Developmental Disabilities Month and was inspired bya local teen-ager, Emily Mae Czachor, with a bigheart who has been volunteering at the school,Everyone is invited to enjoy light refreshments,view the exhibits, meet some of the talentedstudent artists, and, perhapsf even walk off witha favorite piece or two. The event is from 6:30p.m. to B:30 p.m. and open to the public. The Ho-Ho-Kus campus celebrated service dog Patrina's fifth birthday this week by wearingtheir special Patrina shirts to school.The T-shirts were created and sold by the school's PTO, which donated $1 from thesale of each shirt to Canine Comoanions for Indeoendence (CCI), where she wasbred.For those who aren't familiar with the lovable wag, Patrina has been at Ho-Ho-Kus forthree years, aidingstudents in their occupational and physical therapy sessions and offeringmotivation and just a chance to get on the floor for a good cuddle.Back to too.Ho-Ho-Kus Hails HeroesEarlier this month, the Ho-Ho-Kus campus held a special assembly honoring NationalGuard heroes and exemplary students. os and Cpl, Orozco, who also hasbeen deployed to Afghanistan.They took time to share some oftheir experiences overseas witha wonderful slideshow thatincluded photos of Iraqi children-- and then demonstrated theirfitness by taking on a push-upchallenge from the students.Aften they spoke, certlficateswere presented to studentsselected from each classroomwho were recognized as"heroes" for being caring,helpful, giving, unselfish, alwaysprepared, ready to learn and,maybe most important, a friendto all.Staff Sgt. Orozco (far right) wereapplauded along with Ho-Ho-Kus students, who wererecognized for being everyday heroes in the classroom.Chatham is Off to the RacesIt was a roaring good time when students at the Chatham campus raced their cars ina traditional Boy Scout Pinewood Derby. The event was organized by the Patriots PathCouncil with help from three <strong>ECLC</strong> students who make up Troop 100'The winners celebrated with members of Troop lOO and Scoutleaders.Back to too.


Fashion Show is Back!For its 20th annual gala, the Chatham campus is reviving an old tradition: a FashionShow! The clothes from Coldwater Creek of Westfield will be modeled by students,staff and <strong>ECLC</strong> adults clients from Community Personnel Services (CPS) andP.R,LD.E.! Mark your calendars for Thursday, May 10. The event at the WilshireGrand in West Orange, will start at 6 p.m., and also features a tricky tray continuesas well.A non-profit organization, <strong>ECLC</strong> of New Jersey is dedicated to creating a caring community for childrenand adults with special needs. <strong>ECLC</strong> operates two schools (Chatham and Ho-Ho-Kus) educatingstudents with severe learning disabilities, Down syndrome or autism, and offers transition services andjob placements through Community Personnel Services, and day and evening programs at itsP.R.I.D.E.
