Ellis ParryGlobal Lead – Data <strong>Privacy</strong>BP <strong>International</strong> Ltd.Ellis Parry started his career as a solicitor in private practice, before joiningAstraZeneca pharmaceuticals in 2001 as a specialist IT lawyer. Ellis becameAstraZeneca's Global <strong>Privacy</strong> Officer in 2005. He left AZ to join BP as itsGlobal Lead for Data <strong>Privacy</strong> in December 2010. At BP, Ellis is responsible fordevising and implementing BP's global approach to personal informationhandling, including the maintenance <strong>of</strong> BP's Binding Corporate Rules. Ellis hasan MBA, is a frequent public speaker, has a number <strong>of</strong> published articles tohis name and was the founding Chair <strong>of</strong> DataGuidance's Pharma Expert Paneland continues to sit on their UK Expert Panel.Florence RaynalHead <strong>of</strong> <strong>International</strong> and European AffairsCNILFlorence has a master degree in private law from Paris Assas PantheonSorbonne University and post graduate diploma in IT law. She assisted thePresident Alex Türk in his Presidency <strong>of</strong> the WP29 until 2010, dealing with theEU Commission and the management <strong>of</strong> the WP29’s plenary and externalrepresentation. She has also been assisting the CNIL’s Commissioner incharge <strong>of</strong> international affairs in participating in all the work developed at theWP29.Making BCR (Binding Corporate Rules) successful was one <strong>of</strong> the challengesgiven to her. She then has developed European referential adopted by theWP29, promoted them to the business (e.g. “BCR Club”), instructed BCRcases and coordinated the work <strong>of</strong> the European Data Protection Authoritiesat the WP29 level on that subject.Cecilia Álvarez RigaudiasCounselUría MenéndezCecilia Álvarez is a lawyer in the Madrid <strong>of</strong>fice <strong>of</strong> Uría Menéndez. She wasadmitted to the Madrid Bar and joined the firm in 1997 and became a counselin January 2009.She focuses her practice on advising national andmultinational companies on matters relating to IT, data protection, e-commerce, contract law and corporate law. Regarding her personal dataprotection practice, she has a large experience in the data protection design<strong>of</strong> commercial and M&A transactions, in the preparation <strong>of</strong> notices, clauses,contracts, protocols and training programmes, in authorisation proceedingsfor international transfers and administrative and judicial proceedings.
