REVIEW | CITY HOTSPOTSENTERTAINMENT | VIZAGDIVINEDININGThe lounge dining experience is fast catching up in Vizag, thanks wholly to thetrendsetter in city hotspots, Dusk.D---------usk can easily be mistaken for a contemporary----------meditation center at Beach Road in Vizag. We see a---------huge symbolic golden bronze logo of handsoutstretched in repose over a circle, a cove kind of foyer thatopens into artifacts, terracotta, potted palms and burnishedwood; and an orange glow that seeps into almost everything. The décor and ambience at this happening lounge diner says itall. Dusk at the Palm Beach Hotel & Resorts on Beach Road inVizag is indeed the coming of dusk, through and through.Dusk is the new live entertainment lounge diner at thethree-star Palm Beach Hotel & Resorts in Vizag. With earthyinteriors done up by Ameet Mirpuri, this multi-cuisine loungestyle,96-seater diner offers a sunken bar, a DJ console and adining experience, which goes with dinner (only) and livemusic – strictly for couples and bachelors only.----------------------------------------------------Assistant Manager Rehman takes us on an enlightening tour.Stepping inside, Dusk opens into two sections with the sunkenbar at the center. One section that’s narrower has a regulardining facility, while the other goes into lounge mode, fullsteam. The seating is predominantly cane, bamboo and wood(all imported from Bali). The burnt orange ‘throws’ on wide lowseats, against a wooden center-stage low table that’s aglowwith candlelight and soft streaming light from alcove beams, make for a perfect relaxed and leisurely romantic meal. The light reflects subtly on wine glasses placed chandelierstyleat the sunken bar, where a choice of fine wines andimported liquors are served. Service staff personnel glidearound quietly in black uniforms bearing the Dusk goldemblazoned logo. A meal at Dusk is multi-cuisine (a blend ofcontinental and Indian), a la carte and pre-plated. Dishes varyfrom salads (Rs. 135) to the main course (Rs. 185 to Rs. 29524 APRIL 2009 metromela.com EXPLORE YOUR METRO’S BEST MERCHANTS
