39. Consolidated cash flow statement<br />
The company only maintains such cash and cash equivalents as<br />
can be quickly accessed and used.<br />
Interest income and expenses are assigned exclusively to operating<br />
activities.<br />
Cash includes cash in hand, checks and bank balances.<br />
In contrast to the previous year, deposits from borrowings were<br />
classified as financing activity. The previous year’s figures were<br />
adjusted accordingly.<br />
Cash outflows due to the acquisition or establishment of companies<br />
were as follows:<br />

40. Segment reporting<br />
Segment reporting was prepared in accordance with IAS 14 (Segment<br />
Reporting). Individual consolidated data are reported by<br />
business units in keeping with the <strong>Group</strong>’s internal reporting and<br />
organisational structure. Segment reporting aims to lend greater<br />
transparency to both the performance and the assets of the <strong>Group</strong>’s<br />
individual business units or regions.<br />
Primary segment reporting is based on the organisational structure<br />
of the <strong>Conergy</strong> <strong>Group</strong>. The <strong>Group</strong> differentiates among the following<br />
segments:<br />
A. Primary segments: Business units<br />
1. Projects: Epuron <strong>Group</strong> (until 31.12.2006: voltwerk)<br />
The Epuron <strong>Group</strong> is responsible for planning, financing and executing<br />
major solar energy, bioenergy and wind power projects.<br />
2. Engineering: SunTechnics <strong>Group</strong><br />
The SunTechnics <strong>Group</strong> is responsible for planning, implementing<br />
and installing solar and bioenergy units of any size.
