Journal of Public Affairs EducationGuest Editor <strong>Instructions</strong>Proposals <strong>for</strong> symposia are made to David Schultz, JPAE Editor-in-Chief, atjpae@hamline.edu.JPAE uses an online manuscript submission and review process. The manuscripts <strong>for</strong>symposia will go through this system <strong>for</strong> peer review and final decision ofaccept/revise/reject by David Schultz as JPAE Editor-in-Chief.Please review our instructions <strong>for</strong> submitting manuscripts. The instructions can be foundon the NASPAA website, JPAE <strong>Instructions</strong> <strong>for</strong> Authors tab at:http://www.naspaa.org/JPAEMessenger/<strong>Instructions</strong>.asp<strong>Instructions</strong> that Guest Editors should review include our:House Style Sheet 2012-13JPAE <strong>Instructions</strong> and Checklist <strong>for</strong> Accepted Manuscripts<strong>Instructions</strong> <strong>for</strong> Guest EditorsIn<strong>for</strong>mation <strong>for</strong> ContributorsThe symposia manuscript submissions will be made online at:http://www.edmgr.com/jpaePlease note: in the submission instructions, we ask authors submitting invitedmanuscripts <strong>for</strong> symposia to state this in the Comments as they go through thesubmission process. We then keep track of the symposia versus general submissions.General instructions <strong>for</strong> <strong>guest</strong> <strong>editors</strong> on how the JPAE publication process works:1) Guest <strong>editors</strong> invite manuscript submissions and communicate with authors regardingsubmission instructions.2) Please have authors submit manuscripts to the JPAE site (http://www.edmgr.com/jpae)as well as email a copy to you so you know what has been submitted.3) Send the Managing Editor a list of articles that have or will be submitted <strong>for</strong> yoursymposia. (send to kmajor@hamline.edu and copy jpae@hamline.edu)4) The Managing Editor will send out manuscripts <strong>for</strong> review. If you have a list ofsuggested reviewers, please send that as well. Otherwise we will select them out of theJPAE system.5) Reviewed articles will go to the Editor-in-Chief <strong>for</strong> final decision onaccept/revise/reject based upon reviews. Guest <strong>editors</strong> will be in<strong>for</strong>med of these decisionsas well.


6) Guest <strong>editors</strong> are responsible <strong>for</strong> following up with authors to get final versionmanuscripts submitted <strong>for</strong> copy editing in a timely fashion. Deadlines will be set closer toproduction <strong>for</strong> each issue.7) The author’s final accepted version of each manuscript is submitted, as a word doc, <strong>for</strong>copy editing to jpae@hamline.edu. Please have your authors submit manuscripts toJPAE and email a copy to you so you know what has been submitted.8) Guest <strong>editors</strong> write an introduction to the symposium once accepted articles have beenestablished and submitted <strong>for</strong> copy editing.Please note that the copy editing communication process will take place outside of thePeerTrack online (www.edmgr.com) submission system.
