OUTGOING STUDENT FEEDBACK FORM 09-10Programme: BSc International ManagementUniversity Attended: Copenhagen Business SchoolINDUCTION/ORIENTATION PROGRAMMEWhat did this involve, how long did it last, was it useful?I attended the orientation program at the beginning of the semester. It lasts one weekand started the week before all the lectures start. I found it very useful, as it involveda lot of presentation that provide useful practical information regarding the academiclife and also some useful housing information. The social activities in the afternoons(part of the orientation programme) were a perfect opportunity to meet other CBSexchange students and of course have a good time.ACADEMIC EXPERIENCEStyle of teaching, courses, ease of access to courses, methods of assessment, teaching supportUsually the lectures last 2 and a half hours (divided in three parts by 2 breaks). Thestyle of teaching is similar to that at MBS. However, there is much more discussion inclass and student participation is greatly encouraged. All of the lecture halls arelocated within walking distance and are easy to find and access.MBS INTERNATIONAL OFFICELevel of support, additional information that could have been usefulI always had the feeling that the MBS International Office was there to help if anyproblems would arise and they have always responded swiftly to my messages.MBS SECOND YEAR MEETINGSAny additional information that you feel could have been providedAlthough I decided my destination on my own, the information meeting were usefuland helped me to prepare myself for what to expect once I got to the host university.HOST INTERNATIONAL OFFICELevel of support, additional information that could be useful for future studentsThe international office is always ready to help, however sometimes it seems to bequite bureaucratic.INSURANCE, HEALTH COVERPlease include any information relating to the purchase of compulsory healthinsurance i.e. costs etc. or whether this was waived by having the University ofManchester Insurance Policy

I didn’t purchase any health insurance. In Denmark, once you become registeredwith the municipality, and you have to do this, you can get medical treatment free ofcharge.ACCOMMODATIONAs much information as possible on what accommodation is recommended or notrecommended.I’ve lived at the same student residence (Holger Danskes Vej) all year, although I hadthe opportunity to switch to another one at the end of the first semester. I residence iswell equipped (kitchens, laundry room). Furthermore, the communal kitchens and thecourtyard really bring people together. I would recommend Holger Danskes Vej toeveryone. It is located within a 10 minutes walking distance from the main campusand the metro station. The local area is nice with a couple of grocery stores locatedright around the corner. All of the student residences at CBS are well equipped, have kitchens, laundry roomsand internet access. However, they are expensive. It is possible to find privatehousing and CBS might help you with this.DESTINATION INFORMATION AND OVERALL EXPERIENCETransport, travel, social life, integration with local students, student activity groupsCopenhagen is an amazing city. One of the first things you need – is a bike. Peopleuse them all the time and everywhere (going to university, work, clubs, sightseeing).Furthermore, being situated in the centre of Europe, it is a perfect destination forthose who like to travel and lets face it, it does sound nice to say: I went to Swedenfor brunch today. The Social life in Copenhagen in amazing. There are a lot of parties organized byCBS, and a huge bar opens every Thursday in the actual university building (quite aunique experience). Furthermore, you will have an opportunity to meet exchangestudents from all over the world and different cultures. However, there is one thing you should be prepared for, Denmark is expensive, sohere are some tips:• Get a bike – it is a good investment which will save you a lot of money, sincethe metro and the buses are expensive.• Explore your local area and find cheap supermarkets (Netto, Fakta).Keep this in mind and it will work out fine.DESCRIBE IN ONE SENTENCE YOUR YEAR ABROADA truly amazing experience and a social blast.
