Make sure that the platform is fully lowered.2. Check fluid level by observing the oil sight gauge3. Keep sparks, flame, and smokingmaterial away from battery.Always wear safety glasses when working with batteries.Battery posts, terminals and related accessories contain lead andlead compounds, chemicals known to the State of California tocause cancer and reproductive harm. Wash hands after handling.Battery fluid is highly corrosive. Thoroughly rinse away any spilledfluid with clean water.Always replace batteries with UpRight batteries or manufacturerapproved replacements.Check battery fluid level daily, especially if the work platform isbeing used in a warm, dry climate.If the electrolyte level is lower than 10 mm (3/8 in.) above plates,add distilled water ONLY. Do not use tap water with high mineralcontent; it will shorten battery life.The battery and cables should be inspected regularly for signs of cracks in the case, electrolyte leakageand corrosion of the terminals. Inspect the cables for worn spots or breaks in the insulation and for brokencable terminals.Refer to the Service Manual to extend battery life and for complete service instructions.Operator Manual Page 15
