We also provide specialised services to the whole ofScotland through the Scottish Genetics Laboratory Consortium which is funded by National Services, Scotland. The departmentworks in collaboration with the other three Consortium centres in Aberdeen, Dundee and Edinburgh. In addition to an extensiverange of disorders (www.cmgs.org) the laboratory provides a regional service for prenatal aneuploidy screening by QF PCR andthe molecular component of the newborn screening service for cystic fibrosis and sickle cell disease for all of Scotland. You rolewill be to lead the department, which currently consists of 2 principal clinical scientists, 8 clinical scientists, 12 genetictechnologists and 2 administration and clerical staff plus 2 trainee scientists.
