Fireside Inn of Milford came to Southmgton in hopes of capmnng both games but there was an upset as the Semors narrowly overpowered them in both games. In the first game the locals won 21-16 and m the second, they edged out F reside,17- 16. In the first game, Milford came out stonmng as they led n the bottom of the first, Southington batted n three runs. Pat Capobmnco and Dick Spencer singled. Bill Sayball singled to score In Capoblanco. Ted Lebel hit a single to score Spencer. Bob D'Angelo followed with a single and Walt Bahck slammed a double to tie the score at the end of the first tuning to 5-5. Starter nghthander Juhan Albrecht ran into uble m second as five runs by Fireside 'ere s|-am -med in I enntg ].each. Lou Masso, and Bob Smith, h t singles to load the bases whde Bdl Sposdi hit a s ngle to score Leach. Tony Sanchez followed with a double to end the top of the third, 10-5. Defensively, the locals pulled together m the bottom of the third. Capobianco caught a high fly that stirred the crowd. Roceo Macri led out catching until he hurt his knee and was replaced by Don Renehan. Albrecht made a catch on the mound that was even adnured by the Milford team as Fireslde's AI Morales slammed a single right to him. Deke Wilson of the visitmg Fireside hit a home run w th two out .
